I have had a professional relationship with New Found Life for 14 years, I have referred many clients there and had the privilege of working with their clients as well, the owners and staff are some of the most competent, caring and loving people in this industry and one of the best treatment providers in California. I highly recommend them, if I had to send a family member somewhere this would be my first choice. Thanks for what you have done and continue to do for almost 30 years, to help those struggling with substance abuse, as well as the families attached.

In the realm of very best chances to gain a quality meaningful life of sobriety, this is one of them. I came to New Found Life after struggling to get sober for about a year. I would get some sober time built up and then relapse again. All the while, I sincerely wanted sobriety at the time and was going to a meetings every day, talking to a sponsor and doing outpatient twice a week. Finally, I felt that I had needed 24/7 inpatient. I was recommended New Found Life. I went with suggestion and really felt like I ended up in the best possible place. They have a guys house and a girls house and take people in of all ages from all different backgrounds so there is an eclectic mix of people with a common goal or situation. The main reasons this place is unique and why I believe it worked for me.... They put you into action and allow you to get out of your own head throughout the program by going to meetings with the rehab house and doing service work. You are encouraged to get phone numbers of other alcoholics/addicts and practicing calling people and doing other things (contrary action) that you may not otherwise do for the betterment of yourself. After some time in the house, you will have the opportunity to go out on pass with other sober alcoholic/addicts in recovery. New Found Life also stays connected with you in the way of support after your stay as much as you allow. They also offer a door to door sober living arrangement that is very structured to transition to after staying in the main rehab house. As I write this, I am just shy of 8 years sober having gotten sober in the NFL program. I have been able to pursue dream passions and work hard at a career in hospitality. My ability to cope with challenges in sobriety has gradually gone up as I practice principals that I learned back in the program/house and in my continued program of sobriety. This place has great relatable MOD's (managers on duty) and a great director. They are serious about working the program and tell you what you need to hear which is priceless (not what you want to hear). After experiencing multiple geographies, Long Beach is a particularly magical place to get sober. The community is amazing in the 12-step programs and you will hear others put the community up there as one among the best as well. Most importantly, I know that my sobriety comes down to one day at a time. That is all it ever is and I live much happier than I used to. Best of luck to you. Keep it simple. Don't think, just do it. - Dan

I will be celebrating 9 years of sobriety in October and I truly believe that without New Found Life, it might not have gone this way. The structure and support that I received, along with completely relearning how to live life, are things that I am forever grateful for. The continued love and support from ed and Mary Ann to this day mean more toMe than anything. This is not like any treatment center, this is a new family that shows you and helps you find a new way to live

From the moment I called New Found Life to the moment I entered into treatment I felt the love and warmth from the whole staff starting with Ed. I had been to treatment before but New Found Life was different. It was like the family that I never had. They showed me how to build a solid sober foundation. Introduced me to AA which gave me the tools to stay sober one day at a time. After leaving New Found Life anytime I have ever needed to talk the phone was always answered with a friendly voice and the advice and direction I needed. When anyone ever asks me for recommendations for treatment I always say yes I know a place.... my home away from home New Found Life. I have over 8 years of sobriety and I will forever be grateful to Ed and his staff for never giving up on me and giving me a second chance at a beautiful content life.

The name itself, New Found Life, is exactly what you find from this treatment center. I did not know what to expect entering a treatment center, but i only pray that other treatment centers are ran just like New Found Life. It is not just a alcohol/ drug treatment center. It is a treatment center that focuses on rebuilding ones mind, heart and soul. If you chose to listen and embrace what is being offered to you, you can learn how to accept that you are sick and that there is a cure... if you want it. The owners, staff, counselors, and therapists all care about you from the first day. Yes there are rules, some which seem strange, but as an addict, one needs rules. An addict, left to there own devices and rules will for sure run riot upon loves ones and themselves. So I truly KNOW, NFL, gave me the tools to save my life, find a new life, a deal with any problems that arise without having to drink or use. And for that, I would like to say thank you.

In 2 months I celebrate 10 years of sobriety. It’s only because of the New Found Life family. I went into treatment with no hope and came out with an entirely new outlook on life. It’s true I got sober, but I also got deep connections with lifelong friends, and most importantly a new relationship with myself. I found inner peace. Every time I’m in town I visit the owners Ed and Mary Ann Spatola. It’s a lot like showing up to a relatives house for a holiday gathering. Lots of smiles and hugs with an underlying feeling of joy. I literally owe my life to these people. Yes, they gave me the tools to overcome addiction, but what I’ll always remember is how they loved me unconditionally while I learned to love myself. Ryan

New Found Life changed my life. I arrived broken, irritable, and full of discontent. I had tried other programs, but for me they never worked. New Found Life gave me all the tools I needed to succeed in a happy drug and alcohol free life. I am fully in debt to those at New Found Life for assisting me in saving myself from death. I am forever greatful with 11 years of sobriety, and you will be too!

I love this place, I love the owners, the staff, and the environment that is created by people who care. They are family to me, they come to events that my family have, they call me, they ask about my mom and they genuinely care about each and every single person that comes through their facility. Whenever i have needed or asked for help they were quick to do it with no hesitation, that's what family does for one another. A little over 6 years ago i came into treatment here and i definitely left a different person. I can't say that i liked New Found Life while i was in treatment, that's because i was egotistical, selfish and self-centered. Only thing they wanted me to do was change everything, and they would provide the tools for me to do it. What can i say, i have solid friends a close relationship with my family and i get to enjoy ever day.

My son went to New Found Life in 2005 and it was a great experience and after his treatment worked for them before coming home in 2009-2010. The owners Ed and Maryann Spatola are worthy their weight in gold. They really care about their clients. They instill the pricipals of AA and sobriety in their clients and they saved my son's life. They both stay in touch with him. This treatment center for us and my son worth every single penny we paid.

The foundation of my recovery was developed at NFL. The book studies, meetings, the structure were all instrumental in my development and helped lay the groundwork for living life in sobriety. sobriety date, 7-13-1996
