It might be decent in person but I would avoid ordering to go. I really only wanted a pretzel, my girlfriend ordered two, neither of them made it with the order. The sausage roll was slather in sauce so by the time it was delivered the entire bottom half of the bun was soggy. The Mac and cheese was not Mac n cheese it was pasta with some weird thousand island cheese on it, and quite honestly was disgusting.

(Translated by Google) Bar rather than café. California wine is good. Good variety of black beer. Feel free to drop by and drink. Don't forget your ID and banknotes.(Original)caféというよりBar。California wineがうまい。黒ビールも種類豊富でうまい。気軽に寄れて気軽に飲んで。IDと紙幣は忘れずに。

This bar rules. Great beer selection and friendly servers and patron. Low key vibe with rad art on the walls and apparently the wood within the space was carved by the owner or someone who works there. Also, one time I forgot my nice headphones and they kept them for multiple days and didn’t make me feel dumb for doing so when I retrieved them. Can’t wait to return.

Sadly this place has closed permanently (at this location). UPDATE: It has re-opened across the street from its old location, now at 930 Geary.I am happy to report that this is *still* my favorite bar in San Francisco. It has a great selection of beers from local breweries and from around the world on several rotating taps, with a large bottle collection. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.Amsterdam Cafe is conveniently located on the 38 bus line, and a short walk to the 19, 47, and 49 bus lines.
Feedback:
Fantastic beer selection both on tap and bottled but the true highlight of the Amsterdam on the night I was there was the bartender. The young woman who served us was very knowledgeable about the beer selection but she was also extremely knowledgeable about her city. We asked questions about places to eat, things to see, some of the history and the gentrification of some of the surrounding neighbourhoods. In every case she gave us informed and insightful answers and seemed genuinely pleased to be able to talk about the city she grew up in.All around a very enjoyable experience.
Feedback:
Always a Stone beer on tap, and they are on the distribution route for a single keg of their "Enjoy By" series. Or try something new and ask the bartender what's on the featured taps. One of the annual SF Beer week stops, and it can get pretty busy if you stop by on the weekends. Patio tables are excellent for watching the nightlife.
Feedback:
Nice beer bar. There is a good beer selection, some of which is rotating. This place is relaxed and the bartenders take their time with each customer. Not in a bad way…I like it... but be prepared to wait for your beer for a bit. There isn't any food served here but you can get some takeout and bring it to the back where there is more seating or in the patio section. There are a lot of regulars at this bar so it makes for a good time. All in all this is a solid bar. My boyfriend and I go here at least once a week!
Feedback:
Amsterdam Cafe is a beer bar that rivals the famed Toronado and has way less hipsters. For one, you can actually get some decent friendly service and recommendations from hot bartenders here. The prices are reasonable and they have quite a lot of rotating taps. If it's not on tap, they have quite a few bottles in the fridge which are clearly labelled and well priced as well. It seems pretty small from the outside, but the bar has a lot of space and tables in the back. Despite the name, you wont find much smoking or 420 here though, so don't be too disappointed.
Feedback:
1. Beer selection is fantastic2. There is hookah3. The music is always different and always good4. There's a front patio with heat lamps where you can drink and smoke5. It's never too crowdedWhat else do you need?
