Wow! Just got back from GD and things looked lackluster. Brown lettuce in particular.I guess Mon. morning is not a good time.Also, a new kind of avo. Can't remember the name. Good idea would be to put a description on it so people will buy it.

Growers direct used to be a place of great quality and although their customer service has always left much to be desired, it has continuously gone down along with the quality of their produce. It makes me sad to say this because my husband and I were huge fans of growers direct and recommended it to friends and family frequently. We were also very regular customers to this store however in the last 6+ months this store has become what I call the Walmart of produce. Yes it’s cheap but if you want quality and any customer service, this place isn’t for you. Sadly, we have been finding better produce at stater brothers than we have here. Today was likely our last day in the store after too many trips of struggling to find produce that isn’t moldy, bruised, or wilted and purchasing a few moldy items without realizing until we got home in addition to some rude experiences we have had in this store that I was willing to overlook because of the price/used to be quality produce. If you want quality produce, I have to recommend Trader Joe’s next door (amazing customer service as well), Whole Foods, or Sprouts. Sad that growers has gone so down hill from what it once was a handful of years ago.

Lots of variety fresh produce to choose from, prized reasonably. The day I was there for the first time, it was on Memorial day and the store was quite but I can see that the store is well rationed with fresh vegetables, which that the turnover rate is high. It's a little bit out of my way but I'll definitely do my grocery shopping whenever I find myself in this area.

This place is single handedly helping me buy more fresh produce every week. You have to be well educated on food prices to get a good deal, some deal are amazing (I'm looking at you, bag of oranges for $1.50 from this week) while other weeks it's cheaper to get certain items elsewhere. When their deals are good, they are amazing. You just have to know what the going rate is. For $7 this week, I got: 1 acorn squash, 1 spaghetti squash, bag of 10+ oranges, 2 bananas, a clove of garlic. I am satisfied.

Good prices, but lack of staff makes it a ridiculous place to go. this is not the first time that there was only one cashier, and that poor woman was working her tail off Non-Stop. When I got in line there were five people in front of me and when I left there were 12 people behind me. The manager wasn't there and as I said this wasn't the first time. It happened about six weeks ago also. People were not happy at all, with the cashier was very positive unpleasant.

I support the premise of this shop, however I still feel like there is wayyy too much plastic waste for such little fruit/veg. Of customers were given higher incentives to bring their own bag, then the PET plastic containers wouldn’t be in such high demand. It’s not their problem as I’m aware. Bought strawberries, avocados, onions, bell peppers, and all were fresh. Their international selection of fruit is limited, which is why I gave it 5 stars, because shipping lychee fruit from Asia to the USA is stupid and you should never support it. Plus, international fruit is rarely fresh or as delicious as locally grown fruit. If you’re feeling adventurous for fruit, go travel.

The place for fresh, quality produce.Let me disclose: I used to work here, left the store at the end of February. We still shop here for our produce, because it is the best. Aliso Viejo is lucky to have a produce market like Growers Direct.Their quality is the best. For example, last week I was slicing some cucumbers for guests, and noticed that they were not as fresh as usual. As a joke I asked my wife "did you get these at Albertson's?" - Yes, she said! (by the way, I threw the Alberston's cucumbers out, it was embarrassing to serve them.)If you want fresh produce, Growers Direct is the place!

The freshness, selection, and affordability are all great! The baby Gala apples were the ripest, juiciest apples I've ever eaten! I ate one of the apples and a black plum before I even made it home. The location is also very convenient, right next to Trader Joe's. I've passed them twice a day - going to and from work. Glad we stopped to investigate yesterday. What a delicious discovery!

Quiet and cozy fruits and veggie store with great prices. Love the fact that it's right next door to Trader Joe's. I can pop in after TJ's and get my produce, all in one shopping trip! There are some specialty breads and snacks as well, but it's mostly fruits and vegetables. There's organic and non-organic, local and not local. Check out the white board on the right as you walk in for the deal of the day!
