Feedback:

The food & service is excellent. Lots of locals and RV travelers. A bit rustic around the edges. Bar is in the dining room so expect some loud colorful conversations. Other times quiet. Part of the charm. The best potato salad ever eaten. Beautiful salads. Fall off the bone delicious pork ribs. Crab quiche is excellent. I could go down the menu. Never had a bad breakfast or lunch which are the times we go. Good parking. Live music.

Feedback:

Well kept secret. Delicious fish n chips panko battered with fresh cut fries not the usual frozen wood chips. Monkfish now (the cod was better) Excellent coleslaw and large prawns they run out it's so good! Currently experiencing some liquor license woes or bad management but otherwise consistently good. The town of Chinook has an austere charm with well kept homes and an honor system nursery that has a good selection of plants and flowers just off the main road year round. Next stop Ilwaco (charter fishing) and Long Beach going west, Astoria and Warrenton(excellent marina and seafood retail store-the freshest crab!) Seaside and Cannon Beach down 101 south

We have been told this was a good place to eat, so we gladly met our friends there for dinner. We were also warned it could be noisy at night, which also turned out to be true with happy regulars having a good time. A couple of us had beers, mine being a Guinness Stout on tap. For food, one had a burger (Trap Burger on menu), which is what he normally ordered there and likes. My wife had the Grilled Chicken with a salad. She was happy. The other two of us had one of the specials, Ling Cod Fish and Chips, which was quite good. Service was good and friendly.

Feedback:

We went on a Friday around 6pm. It has a neighborhood dive feeling. Everybody knew each other. Lots of back slapping and gin n tonics flowing. We were made to feel at home. Food was good. I had ling cod fish n chips. Portion of fish seemed small for $17. It tastes excellent. The owner prides herself on homemade sauces and dressings. It really shows with the excellent flavor of each. My husband had a burger. It was great! The fries were excellent as well. We will return for another date night.

One waitress taking orders, serving orders, and bussing tables - she had a great deal of patience with all that she had to do. I ordered the Lean Cod special and was a bit disappointed. I am not sure what "lean" described except that the portions were not very large for the price and they were "lean" on seasoning. My husband enjoyed the crab cakes but he paid $$ to enjoy them. Others in our party enjoyed the oysters - flavorful but not as firmly fried as they would have liked. Okay place but nothing that we would particularly recommend or nothing we would return to eat.

Some would say Dive Bar. Not us. Drink if you like. But I would rather enjoy Breakfast or Lunch and Dinner. Breakfast is excellent with down home food. An absolute must. Opens at 6AM. Lunch menu and Dinner about the same as one another. 🍔 Burgers are delish. Oysters tenderly cooked are wonderful, as are the Fish and Chips. Oh boy the French fries are too die for. Hand cut and 😋 yummy.Early in the day with kids over 10 I guess would be alright. But not really a place for little one's. It's a favorite place for us. Give it a try. They are on Facebook. Take a look.

Three of us split the baskets of prawns, cod and ling cod fish and chips...fresh homemade coleslaw, all were great, we would order any of them again. Breading is crispy panko type. Hand cut and breaded fish and shrimp was tender and tasty. Coffee is Thundermuck, my favorite. Came in sat afternoon with mom who is in a wheelchair, a cozy bar restaurant, but room to be comfortable. Friendly service, and welcoming. Out vote..best fish and chips.

Feedback:

I live near Portland and own a cabin in Klipsan. For 30yrs I have driven by this place and never stopped as until recently it did not look like much from the road. I heard really good things about it and decided to stop in as I was leaving town. It is a small, clean and friendly place. Many Chinook locals hang out here. I sat at the bar next to a commercial crabber and noticed several local beers on tap. I ordered the cod fish and chips and also sampled a large butterflied shrimp. Both were great. They use an understated Panko breading so the fish/shrimp must stand on their own (which they did). Talking to the staff, all the seafood is fresh (as one would expect since they are a stones throw from the port of Chinook and Ilwaco is just down the road) and they make all their sauces from scratch. I think a lot of local pride shines in this place.
