Counterfeit cartridges sold here.I visited the Cloud 99 dispensary today because I saw a BOGO free on the $40 cartridges advertised on their website. Just arriving in California today from Florida, I am a bit naive as to the legal cannabis market here and I assumed that if I was buying from a dispensary that the product would be legit. I asked the bud tender about the BOGO deal and he recommended I get a Kingpen brand cartridge along with a HeavyHitters.After leaving the dispensary with my cartridges, I did some research on the cartridges I had just picked up. I found out the Kingpen uses an authentication system that includes a QR on the packaging that can be used to verify the legitimacy of the product. I also found out that both companies contain a list of authorized sellers on their respective websites.Upon inspection, I realized that the Kingpen cartridge had no QR code on the packaging nor did it have any other means of authenticating the product. I then checked the list of authorized sellers on both the Kingpen and HeavyHitters product websites and Cloud 99 was not listed as an authorized seller on either one.
