Lots of talk about possibilities, but if you have a higher education and actually need a reasonable accommodation to perform the essential functions of a position, this is not the employment vendor for you.The first red flag was when I was told that no employment would be located for me until I completed all programs with MRS which are designed to help me navigate employment with an impairment. Notwithstanding that this policy alone probably violates the ADA prohibition against limitation and classification of a qualified individual with disability on the basis of the disability which adversely affects employment or employment opportunities - this is the policy of Elite, an employment vendor for Michigan Rehabilitative Services - which has a duty to ensure a person who needs a reasonable accommodation receives them. At the end of the day, I received next to no assistance, and nothing substantive. I located an employer, interviewed, hired in - all without assistance from this company. And when conflict arose - in the form of a coworker fixating on me - his solution was to "avoid her; just stay away from her." I moved to the second shift and the coworker showed up on my shift without authorization and in violation of the Violence in the Workplace Policy. So - that wasn't the solution.And when I reported it to Human Resources, who do you think was fired? Not the harassing employee. So, now I have an attorney - like the other two people who were recently retaliated against by City of Flint Police Department for reporting unlawful activities. The sad part is that when I informed (via text) Mr. Dorian Jackson from Elite Career Solutions of the termination, he said, "I'm going to call you." That was 4-days ago. But, I didn't wait that long. The very next day I sent a request to the Director of Michigan Rehabilitative Services and informed him of the lack of assistance Elite Career Solutions has been for me, including the policy of not helping with employment searches if you need a reasonable accommodation in the form of continuing therapy. I informed him that Dorian never called regarding the termination and never showed up to a meeting with the MRS representative, my vocational therapist, and me at the time he agreed to show up. I stated that there is no reason I should be stuck working with a vendor who has neither the time nor the inclination to work with or for me to ensure my success - which they are supposed to do for the first 90-days at any job. And I requested a different employment vendor. I meet with that gentleman in about 30-minutes.Long Story Short: USE ANYONE ELSE - BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS ONLY INTERESTED IN PRETENDING TO ASSIST YOU SO THEY CAN COLLECT THE CHECK FROM THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.
