I wrote a review in the past that gave a better rating. This time I have to give less stars. I'm being honest and actually a little friendly because, they deserve 2 stars. I have visited this location... more

My first time and I've never had Hawaiian food before. Our server, Fox, was so helpful. Everything was delicious. We ordered the ahi poke trio for our appetizer. I ordered the mixed plate, which was a great into to the cuisine. My son got the luau plate the he enjoyed. Serving sizes we're generous, so we have leftovers. Fox was a great server. We will return.

Love my man fries although I had a sad experience when I was on vacation. I had talked up man fries to my ole lady for months before vacationing down south. Came in on a Tuesday and I couldn't get man fries cause for some odd communistic reason fries can't be done on Tuesday. My soul was crushed a little. Wish I lived not 500+ miles away

I wrote a review in the past that gave a better rating. This time I have to give less stars. I'm being honest and actually a little friendly because, they deserve 2 stars. I have visited this location a number of times mostly, at lunch. The food is never consistent and that isn't good. I speak from experience as, I was a chef for many years (I know you don't care). Most restaurants have an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that the kitchen follows. This place obviously doesn't. I.E.; We had been in one day food was great, go in a couple days later and we had to send food back twice. Meat has either been dry and bland or so salty I couldn't take more than a bite. The rice is not proper fried rice and the list goes on. It is not just me who noticed this (I'm just the messenger). I don't know if this is supposed to be a family restaurant because we felt it had more of a bar atmosphere. By this I mean, staff could be heard cussing just feet away from our table, loud and, food wasn't prepared well. I wouldn't recommend eating here but, if you tell them you're in a hurry they will accommodate. So, it isn't all bad. Just be warned, if you decide to eat here, your food might be dry and salty and the language might be "put an earmuff on the kids". Others might disagree with this post so, don't let me stop you from visiting.-GSH

Stop and experience it for yourself it’s OK not bad not good just plain old OK very trendy nothing really special about it but the staff was remarkable they really were on top of things and at the same time they were invisible in my case it was a family reception the room is small but everybody floated around so it worked out well the food is good I will probably only go back if there is another occasion but I will not go back just because there was nothing really special about it parking was a little tough.

Best potential evening of great food for you and yours, as long as service is not a prerequisite. We loved the food but for the first time in our lives, left zero tip. Why? Because our waitresses' fake Hawaiian accent was only equaled by her lack of attention to our table. We wanted to tell an owner, or manager, but none were in evidence, that, "your servers dont care how much time, or money; you invested in this venture.

When I have the chance to visit San clem I make sure to visit this joint. They do a great Loco moco and the pulled pork dishes are also very tasty.Rarely do restaurants away from Hawaii make authentic food... Hapa j is a winner!

Took my wife here after 3 years of being gone and craving the "Man Fries". Justin at the bar was great. Attentive, personable, and a generally pleasant person to talk to. The Man Fries were just as amazing as I'd remembered and now my wife is hooked as well. We didnt quite finish the huge portion (even though we shared it) but still managed to down some bread pudding. Which was phenomenal as well. Atmosphere, Food, Price, Servers/Bartenders are great!!

It's beach bro central there for Taco Tuesday, but their tacos justify the popularity. I don't live in the area, nor do I subscribe to Taco Tuesday hysteria, but if I'm in the area on Tuesdays I always make a point of stopping here for dinner with friends. Good food and friendly staff.

The man fries are epic and the short ribs were so good. (Pretty much all the things are good.)I highly recommend the mai tai and blue Hawaiian. They taste like Key West. So tropical and delicious.
