Employees are friendly and helpful, from the front door to the back of the house. i don't like to look at the menu , it reminds me of ordering Chinese food{ 200 item menu] I just cant decide. so the bud tenders always give me something nice, and it surprises me that they don't always throw the top shelf, today I acquired a beautiful sativa from Emerald for around 45 dollars!!! really smooth and somewhat a budget weed , but top grade weed it is once you fire it up . thank you today for your wonderful customer service as well!Jason

Just moved here, door staff/security was super nice, the woman at the counter had no personality and could have cared less if I was there or not. Very blah se blah attitude. Felt somewhat overpriced. This dispensary is closest to my house. Unfortunately I likely won’t go back. Hire an upbeat and knowledgeable bud tender and I would go back. Maybe they have good bud tenders, definitely not today

I just moved to the neighborhood and my experience was great! I'm an outside enjoy life kinda smoker so Grass Roots is perfect for me. Grab and go! The big security dude outside was nice enough to point my taxi driver to a safe place to park (I'm old school I take taxis) and explain that the Fire Department is next door and the shop is located in front of a bus stop so no double parking. Experience was spot on from the sweet door guy to the cute budtenders! The bar folk made me feel welcome and we had some laughs at the neighborhood. I'm new to the city and its quite the show. Hopefully the city can clean up the homeless and drug problem but thats another rant. At least I know I'm safe when I enter and leave. Thank you Grass Roots my new favorite spot! See you soon.

The people answering the door and letting us in were friendly but the chick working the counter was not helpful at all and was snotty. We walked almost 2 miles to this specific dispensary and were disappointed. We asked a couple of questions and she snapped at my husband telling him the difference was the # of mgs. Most people really don’t know she could have been more helpful and not as snotty.

This place used to be okay. I walked in on a Sunday and was the only person in line. There were probably 3 or 4 bus tenders not helping any customers at the moment and 1 budtender who was. I waited and waited for roughly 5-8mins and decided to just leave because I was late for a movie. Their prices are pretty high. Honestly after finding about Eaze and other delivery services, there’s no need for me to ever go back to ever visit this establishment again. Thank god. Eaze has many of the same products for a fraction of the price as grass roots and are at your house within 20-30mins tops. The people at grass roots are NOT friendly. I used to be a big tipper at this place too. Not a single employee here deserves a tip. rude & arrogant. I never give 1 star reviews because I think thats childish but this place really deserves it. I hope this place closes.

I was here to pick up an online order and i purchased two sativa cookies and the person that carried out the order said out loud that he placed the sativa cookies in the bag and when we got home we realized It was indica cookies . When i called back to see if I can get a store credit they said there was nothing they could do . Just be careful and double check your order before you leave there especially if you don’t live near the dispensary. Lol I hope they don’t have people high while on the job and that’s how my order got mixed up with indica instead of sativa .

Dam! I had just written a good update to this last review and it got eaten so I guess the Canna-gods weren't too happy with my latest product. The heck with all that. Now I really am on my way there for some sauce, oh let me count the ways I love sause. But we all have something to accomplish today, or, maybe not. Whichever, I wish you ALL good luck and happy cannabis-ing! (I'll work on that word next time).I was one of many who got into the Grass Roots store excitement shortly after they opened and was a loyal customer for years. Things were up and down but because they were selling pot we gave them more credit than they were due. The management seems to believe that we, the customers were there solely for their benefit. GR continued along those lines systematically. They had become full blown capitalists. Money, apparently, was and is more to their point. It has been a long time since I've gotten a truly good deal there. The last two "budtenders" only wanted to sell me something. To quote our fabulous leader: " What cha gonna do?" For one, I'm taking my long time business elsewhere, like Barbary Coast. At least I don't "feel" ripped off there. They may be just as capitalistic as anyone else, but they didn't jive me. Maybe I'll go to Urban Pharmacy again. They were very helpful and friendly even though they were completely out of what I was looking for. I'll go back to them too. Honest and friendly, that's what I like.

This is 'my' home dispensary, and of course I'll remain loyal, but a couple suggestions: Get rid of the obnoxious menu software - it causes the transactions to take forever. There are very few sorting and filtering options which renders the intended functionality useless. Start a 'medical only' line. I've opted out of going many times since the deregulation simply because I don't want to wait for each idiot tourist to chat and browse for 15 minutes before the line moves. There are definitely now too many people taking too long and it's off putting.

My go-to dispensary for about 4 years now. Sad to be moving out of the neighborhood. The place is decorated like a Victorian-era saloon: molded "tin" ceilings, velvet-flocked wallpaper, beautiful wood bar. The staff are all friendly, but professional and knowledgeable about their product. In four years, even the least friendly was just brusque and business-like. There are definitely "rush hours" when you can expect to wait for 5-10 minutes in line, even with 5 budtenders working, but most of the time the wait inside is less than 3 minutes. Prices are reasonable. Since the prepackaging law went into effect, I miss watching them measure out my goodies, but I've never been shorted. This is a "get it and go" dispensary, with no lounge, so don't plan to indulge on the spot. Definitely recommended!

I was there half an hour before closing. I stood in line for 20 minutes at which point they said they weren't letting anyone else in. No one ever told me I might not get in because of the time. Terrible lack of customer service.Move your line faster. Let people waiting know they might not get in. I drove from the East Bay to get there and my time was totally wasted. Never coming here again.
