GREEN CONDOR
7225 westren ave | Los Angeles, California, 90047Client Review on GREEN CONDOR
Feedback:
I walked 20 mins from Silver Lake area after doing a Google search of "Mexican near me" this was the 2nd place that popped up but closest. Not an extensive menu and pricy, 2 taco platter $12.99 with okay rice n choice of black or refried pinto beans. My sever was nice enough but I asked her if they had shredded beef which they didn't which I shoulda known right then and there it wasn't going to be to my liking with only a one sided food menu. Plenty of alcohol $18 shots of Tequila n Mescal. The server recommend the Asada which I was considering but also the carnitas and told me she thought is was the best marinated meat they had so I went with the 2 Asada tacos which was over cooked and not as much flavor as I was expecting from what she told me. I shoulda tried the Carnitas or one of each. The Spanish rice and refried pinto beans were okay but should asked if it was from a can. They also had a sign posted outside saying "happy hour everyday 4-7" but was told there wasn't a Happy hour on weekends. Plus someone brought their obnoxious Chiuaua and it was barking way too much and disrupting my and other diners' experience. I really wanted to tell the dog owner for 40 of the 50 mins while I was there, that I am a dog walker/sitter and that their dog just isn't trained enough to bring to a restaurant. You should be able to shush your dog once and it listens. As I left the dog barked at me and dogs don't bark at me. I don't recommend this place for all the great Mexican options that are way cheaper. Should've known when they don't stick to their posted signage and the menu was rinky dink. This is LA, I expect better. And I grew up in Texas and New Mexico and granted the Mexican food is just a little different in California, even in Arizona but there's so many better places than this. Shoulda went for the street meat taco stands.
