El Condor is our favorite east side spot, hands down. We wandered in one day for brunch, partner got the enchiladas and now we go back whenever one of us gets a craving.Very solid food—the chips and salsa are sooooo good, and partner says the mushroom enchiladas (with red sauce) are the best thing on the menu. I’ve done the mushroom and chicken burrito bowls and several of the quesadilla options, as well as the mushroom tacos. The tacos are only ok but the burrito bowls are excellent (note: they go HEAVY on the sour cream so I’d request light sour cream if you aren’t a huge fan) and the quesadillas are excellent if you want something lighter.The service is always good, attentive without hovering. Oh and the drinks...get one of their margaritas from the bar. Heavy pours but still flavorful, my favorite kind of marg! The agua fresca and the limeade are both great non-alcoholic choices if you swing that way too.Ambience is perfect for a low key date night, partner and I come here regularly and it’s easy to chat without shouting at one another. The only thing that would make it more perfect is if it was at the beach! It’s that kind of cool, easy vibe.Wait wise, it’s, again, a breeze. The longest we’ve waited for a table is 15 minutes or so and if you’re inclined, you’re welcomed to wait at the bar. One word though: parking in this part of Silver Lake (all of Silver Lake, tbh) is a hassle so you may want to valet. We usually find a spot in the side streets but that can take 10-15 minutes, 20+ on a poppin Friday or Saturday night.
