I have been a patient at JJ Acu & Herb Clinic since 2014, and I can 100% attest to their professionalism and their deep love and understanding for every single patient. They truly go above and beyond what is expected of them, actually listen to their patients, and possess what I believe to be the most important quality in doctors -- compassion.I first came to JJ when my mom discovered them after a long search for the best acupuncture / herb clinics in Los Angeles. At that point in my life, I had taken a year-long medical leave from college because I was experiencing such intense physical / mental symptoms that left me bedbound and completely unable to sleep or eat -- I was vomiting constantly and my eyesight had deteriorated to the point where I was scared to look at anything because my sense of perspective was so off. I went to university health services multiple times to which the doctors all told me I was just experiencing "anxiety" and prescribed lorazepam and sleeping pills, which did NOT help at all.After approximately a year of weekly acupuncture sessions and herbal medicine at JJ, I was well enough to return to college. Yes, it's a long time, but healing takes time -- illnesses don't manifest overnight and Korean acupuncture / herbal medicine is meant to eliminate health problems at the root of the cause. I also think my symptoms were especially severe.My acupuncture sessions were relaxing, and also an opportunity for me to ask the doctors any questions I had about my health, and to express any concerns or anxieties I had about my symptoms. The female doctor especially was so, so compassionate and never rushed me out -- she took the time to stay in the room with me and ALWAYS listened to my concerns with compassion even when I started to repeat myself out of anxiety. Looking back, I think it was this kind of compassion that helped take my healing even further -- she was NOT obligated to be this kind and patient with me, but she went the extra mile.I still wasn't at 100% when I decided to return to school, but I remember the doctor telling me that having the routine of school / classwork / social interaction would actually help me to reach full recovery. And she was completely right, because about a semester and a half into my return to school, I felt COMPLETE recovery from my symptoms. The doctors also continued to check in with me via phone call while I was away -- looking back, I'm so grateful for all that they've done for my health and recovery.I'm happy to report that I haven't experienced a relapse in my symptoms since then, but have returned once in a while for minor digestive issues, muscle pain, etc. I would recommend JJ Acu & Herb Clinic with utmost confidence to anyone dealing with anything as minor as a sprained ankle to chronic mystery illnesses. They truly, truly care about their patients.
