Mom was transferred here post tracheotomy with a feeding tube in place. Most everyone was helpful, but the person I want to thank the most is Aretha, patient relations rep. She kept us informed and in touch with Mom (via FaceTime) during a difficult time with COVID restrictions. Her upbeat personality and ability to get things done proved amazing. One example, Mom was refusing physical therapy (she had never done this before). Aretha figured out the problem and resolved it immediately. She was our patient advocate when we were unable to be there. For this (and many more reasons), my family and I will be forever grateful. THANK YOU Aretha and the rest of the Kindred San Gabriel staff! Also, Dr Subbiah gets a 5 star rating! Mom is a complicated cancer patient. Dr Subbiah works for City of Hope West Covina office. It is my understanding that he helps out at Kindred when needed. He reviewed Mom's case when she was first admitted and gave me his phone number if I had further questions. I called him twice. He took both calls answering my questions in a kind and respectful manner. I hung up feeling my mom was in the right place!
Feedback:
Great nurses and care nurse manager shaunte is great she always check on me. I feel like I amAt home. Very caring people. Some nurses sit with me and talk me through my anxiety. The nurses are always smiling. I am afraid to go somewhere else because I have such a bond with the staff
Feedback:
My husband was very very sick when he was admitted into ICU Kindred San Gabriel Valley Hospital. I cannot express my gratitude to all the nurses, doctors, and staff. My husband was then transferred to a regular room and the care was excellent. Shaunte Anderson, the Nursing Administrator is unbelievable. She made sure my husband and my family were well taken care off. Shaunte listens and takes positive action when needed.. Doris, the nursing supervisor, the best supervisor. Well, if i start naming each one i will run out of space and words. This is a hospital with professional care and so much love for their patients. I highly recommend this facility.

Feedback:
Went from bad to worse on companies that provides Dialysis services to hospital. My mom has been on dialysis at Kindred for a few months and the nurse had no clue on what she was doing to start myMom 's dialysis. I noticed she had to call in a nurse I recognized from the old company to help . Where is the resource educator or supervisor. I guess they don't exist. I will complain to the state that this new company is incompetent. Between the both of them it nearly taken 2 1/2 hours to get my mom on the machine. I was so nervous I stayed there to watch my mom.
Feedback:
What a horrible place, my mom was transferred at 7:00 p.m. after 36 days in ICU at Keck.Upon arrival RT (Respiratory Technician) did not know how to handle my mother's ventilator settings. The heart reading machine was not making proper readings, impossible to understand what the nurse was saying. Lastly, my mother passed away in their care at 2:40 a.m. less than 8 hours of being there. Horrible experience!
Feedback:
This location is smaller and more convenient than the other long term hospitals we looked at. We brought our grandfather here after a long stay at the hospital. The staff here is always friendly and when they see us, they always make sure to go out of their way to come say hello. I really love the entire atmosphere here. Its small but has a good vibe with everyone always smiling. The parking is my only drawback here. My recommendation is to go between 8 am and 11am or else you'd end up parking down the street. But the times we did visit, it wasn't to much of a problem, but my mom will say otherwise since she was there all the time. Aside from that, I do like this place. It's one of the nicer hospitals in the area.
Feedback:
Our family was exited to learn that our dad had a small possibility of life after he had slim to none when he arrived at Huntington Memorial Hospital He had a collapsed long and got long infection. But, if that was not enough he also has stage 4 cancer. After three week in the hospital they transfered my dad to Kindred Hospital in West Covina. The first week our dad was well taken care of, the nurses were very attentive and friendly, room was clean, and we got updates of our dad's health. The second week we were there we noticed that our dad got a very bad rash from being left deficated for hours and hours to the point where he had blood on his private parts so we decided to report it to administration. After a few attempts of trying to get our dad's sold pads change we asked one of the nurses to please be more aware of our dad's needs and her response was that the RNS get paid more money then the other nurses do and that RNs should change pads more often then they did, she also said ,"I hate my job". Very unprofessional answer. On father's day we came to visit our dad and we found a used needle with blood that had been changed earlier that day on the food table, blood on my dad's hand, a bloody towel in between his legs, and scratches on his legs. There are pictures and witnesses to confirm this is true. This is a case of negligence and careless people. That is unacceptable, after a few phone calls and a messages without a response I was forced to write this review. Hoping that this issues will be resolved and for patients and their family members to be aware of the situation.
