I have a Nissan Sentra 2009 - and the other day the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to financially cover the issues that were causing the code to come up I took the car to Ammco who scanned for the code for free, but wanted to charge me for the diagnosis . Karen does not only greet you warmly but she explains to you exactly what is going on. There is no charge for a diagnosis. If something needs to be fixed they will fix it for you and tell you how much the cost is. If it's too expensive then you only pay $100 for their labor.For the inexperienced_______________________If you're like me and you only know a little bit about cars. If you bought a used car like my sentra from 2009. I bought it in 2012 and it's running fine. Karen explained to me that because the car is old, Ive had it for about 4 years, the other person put 66,000 miles on it. You get to a certain point and she explained to me that the first part to go is usually or almost always the 02 sensor. It starts to go bad, then you the rest go bad.. so if you don't have the money to replace the parts now, you wait down the road, build up the funds and then replace the parts. It was explained to me that the "service engine soon" light comes on because the computer in the car is detecting a problem early on. However, just because the light is on doesn't mean the car will stall or fail on you. She explained to me that the real issues happen years down the road so just remember that! If.. it's an older car as far as I know.Karen also offers a class for $25, every third Sunday of the month and she does not charge you the rest of the time.She also rents out cars for $15/day. Anyway the point is, is that she is upfront and honest with you. She doesn't BS around and this is will be my "go to place" if anything comes up with the car.. I called other places and they were asking for $135 for jut the diagnosis. Karen is fantastic.
