Our breakfast group has been getting together once a week at Jantz for over four years. Because of Covid 19, our gatherings were suspended until this past week when Jantz was once again opened for dining in. Most of us had stopped by the restaurant during the shelter-in-place to buy dinners, breads, pies, etc. but we hadn't had breakfast together. The conversation was great, the food was wonderful, the service excellent (as usual), and we were all thrilled to be back. Thanks for reopening. Take out is great, but eating with friends around a table is so, so much better.

I love the freshness of their food, especially there pie and the smaller piece of pie is actually quite a substantial amount' For those of you not quite sure about trying out the Rhubarb pie if you like tartness you should love it. There breakfasts are great and the staff and service are wonderful. The owner is really nice and will always lend an ear to the customers. I highly recommend this place. Maggie is a great server who will go out of her way to treat you right. The French toast is wonderful.

I enjoyed the atmosphere/ decor, cleanliness and food. The waitress was not attentive..she was young in her late 20's blonde and seeming More intrested in talking to the guy that works there. My husband and I had waved our hands and nothing finally..since No one was in the resturant I shouted. Excuse me! And asked her for the condiments We needed. Mustard..and straws. Finally we had to get up go the counter and ask the young lady in a bonnet for a sliver of pie because the other girl nevercame back and then this lady behind the counter charged us for our entire meal before we finished eating I went back to get my purse and pay. I was thinking oh wow this is the weirdest way to pay. Then we say back down to eat our pie after paying and the lady said...ohhh I thought you were done. I had to explain the waitress never came back so We had to ask for our pie at thecounter. We came in at 4pm i believe 5:30 you close but she never left. She was our check in girl and she took our order. She was friendly though. I still tipped her 10% but i might as well of made these sandwiches at home for a $39.00 bill... Just to be begging to be served. The food was good though. I had a BLT and my husband had a philly cheese steak we both had fruit and him a soda. By the way this has happened in the past and that's why I rarely go here. It's not worth the money for unattentive staff. I have been with large groups in the afternoon. And the waitress was more friendly and attentive but not by much. We still had to flag her down for a refill. There pie was a French silk pie and that was delicious!. I had to go to a late Dr.s appt. with my daughter so I didn't take pictures like I normally do. I really wish this review went better..but it's the truth how my experience went. Like I mentioned food was really good and the place was clean and it is a nice place to eat. I will probably comeback with my group of girlfriends..because 1 likes to come here.. But I won't ever come alone or with my husband or a friend. Only because of they unattentivness I've got each time alone. If you like the place the points system they have with their card is worth it..because they send you coupons.

My husband and I stopped by Jantz in Merced for a quick bite (to share a delicious banana nut muffin made with pecans!). A latte for him and an iced tea for me - and both were spot on as usual. Despite the Spartan nature of our order this time the waitress was thoughtful and kind which is always a treat at Jantz. We have frequented Jantz in the tens of times (perhaps the low 100s) over now many years and are always happy to look forward to our next visit to this fine local establishment. Thank you, Jantz!

Great food and wonderful customer service. My elderly friends, one of which uses a wheelchair, were helped to get seated by the caring hostess. She came back to check on us and to remind me to present my rewards card for an additional bonus. Our waitress made sure that the food we ordered was to our liking and brought boxes for us to take home when she saw we hadn't finished our sandwiches without being asked first. Love Jantz and will return every time I'm in Merced!!

For a bakery restaurant, I was sorely disappointed that they have not learned to bake the pie crust. The "sugar free" peaches in the pie were quite good. Otherwise my rating would have been only one star. I love a flaky baked crust. Unfortunately, this crust was not much beyond raw dough. The pannini sandwich was good, and service was good as well. Just consider not ordering pie.

Jantz is by far my favorite restaurant in Merced. The people working there are very nice, and make me feel like they really care about my experience there. The food is always excellent. My Tritip sandwich was delicious, and no one can hold a candle to the pie. Jantz makes the best pies I have ever eaten. The decor in the restaurant is also very nice. I feel comfortable and relaxed in the dining room. Thank you.

☄Some really beautiful people run this place as well as the original one in Atwater and the one in Mariposa! Therefore, it stands to reason, that it is a beautiful setting, has delicious, homey, scratch cooked food, and is always clean and welcoming! 🍞🌞 Pictured - last weekend, duck hunting season opening, my husband was gone so we went wild and bought all the different desserts we were craving from Jantz. Whoa! 🤣☄Nothing but the best for their customers from good God-fearing people. ☕Thanks Jantz for being there for my husband's office treat days, for great espresso & coffee and for those desperate last minute Friday afternoons when my girls and I need real cheesecake! ☄You guys rock! God continue to bless and keep you and yours always💙

This was a pleasant surprise for me to find. My favorite place to take friends and family now. It’s become my special treat place.The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Favorites of mine are the chicken sandwich and the peanut butter pie and banana pie. Freshly made daily
