Sweet Lady Jane’s has been a West Hollywood favorite for over 30 years. Established by Jane Lockhart, it was known as a place for the best in West Hollywood, if not the West Side. Patronizing Janes was always a pleasant experience in terms of quality, taste, and presentation. Sweet Lady Jane’s has now hit a sour note as a result of a deliberately rude and officious man, where the word gentleman could never apply. New management has diminished the quality and pleasant experience of visiting Sweet Lady Jane’s, now a place to avoid.

Truly outrageous and horrific experience. While walking my dog I decided to pick up a to-go cheesecake and full cake on the way home to give as a gift. (Keep in mind I was wearing a mask). The manager or employee Jake at the front said I could not enter at all with my dog due do new Covid-19 guidelines very rudely. (Which mind you is not a directive from the city of LA ) He then said he would hold the dog and tried to grab the leash from my hand to which I said I would have her sit outside while I held the 16ft collar and stepped 1 ft inside to the register for one second to order while she sat. He then said he was refusing to serve me. I told him I was listening to his direction and she was not inside. Also i would prefer not to allow a stranger to hold my dog next to a busy street with traffic zooming by. He then made up a rule that all dogs including service pets cannot be within 5 meters of the front door changing his story. when I asked to see the so-called new regulation he said they do not have to show anything to anyone. What rude and horrific service during a stressful time and I was merely trying to shop local and avoid them having to pay for delivery service fees. I have patroned this establishment for years and as an event producer I order thousands upon of dollars from here annually. I will never patron this business again and if you have a dog please beware and avoid an awful experience! I left telling him I was not intending for him to be upset and we are all stressed but there is no excuse for such a disgusting experience.I will also be posting on yelp and every other review site out there.

Possibly the most perfect bakery in the world. The triple berry cake is to die for. Adding a little more to my review because I don’t think I gave this place justice. I have been coming to sweet lady Jane bakery for about 20 years. I now live in Orlando and have been fortunate enough to travel a great deal to Europe, Asia and South America (I own a travel agency). I am really not kidding when I say this is probably the best bakery I have ever been to, and that really is saying a lot. I thank the owner for responding to my post and that shows to me that they truly care about their customers. Over the years their product has stayed consistent and their triple berry cake has always been the highlight of my day when I’ve stopped for a slice

Top notch service and food, I'm impressed. I got the Spinach, Sun-dried tomato, goat cheese omelette with Challah toast and added applewood bacon. French press coffee was good, although I prefer my coffee on the stronger side. The place is on the smaller side, but it's great atmosphere and decor is nice. Really great if you want to sit down and talk. Shared a curried chicken sandwich and asked for the bread to be toasted, which was really good and flavorful.

Have been going to SWJ for years and having a large family I regularly spent $2000-3000 a year there for birthday cakes and pastries. This ends today. I called today and inquired about the possibility of ordering one of their regular cakes for pickup tomorrow. The snooty attitude by the young woman who I have spoken to was utterly dismissive, rude and unacceptable. Perhaps their past success went to their heads or just have no standards anymore when deciding to hire people? Not sure which is it but I will NEVER spend a dime here ever again and will make sure nobody I know does either.

best place has such amazing cake! It was so hard to pick which one to order, but at last we settled on the mixed berry shortcake and it was just so light fluffy it was hard not to scarf it all down at once. Nice to see that they are expanding as it is very limited seating inside but we were lucky to get a table. Also it was nice not to feel rushed as we stayed and chatted as we ate our slice of the cake.

This bakery on Melrose near La Cienega has a great selection of pies, cakes, cheesecake and pastry. The portions are plenty large enough so you can enjoy part at the cafe and part at home. The cherry pie had a flaky crust and lots of cherries. Dense fruit filling not too sweet. The chocolate cake layered with mousse was rich and moist. Service was a little frayed because the place was so busy. This place would be busy even if it weren't next to a cannabis store.

The cakes are tondie for. Didn't expect it to be that good but it was. So creamy and flavour was on point. Love the red velvet. To top it off, the coffee that they serve is also great. They have La Colombe.They have a nice little place in Melrose which has staff that are awesome.

Been here a few times. It’s not my favorite but I come here when I can’t get to the ones which are. Decent cakes but sh*tty service. Yesterday I entered w my well-behaved service dog to order to go. I was asked if it was a service dog to which I replied yes it was and proceeded to order. After gathering my order my friend asked me if I’d like to eat there or not and before I could answer someone who works there chimed in loudly “you can’t eat here w the dog!” And then flew past me rudely as if I didn’t matter. I will never spend another dollar here and will tell everyone I know of how they treat military veterans!

Their cakes are great. We go there all the time but this review is directed toward Bonnie and their custom cake service.Service - Bonnie is amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable and super easy to work with. We sat down with her to plan our the design of our cake expecting it to be this long drawn out affair. It wasn't. We were out of there very quickly. Don't get me wrong, she didn't rush through our session. She was just that good at guiding us through the process. Price - I feel like someone got ripped off here... Not us! The quality of the design and the cake itself was so high that we felt there was something wrong with the price. I mean... how can such a beautiful and delicious cake be so affordable? It was so good that we literally went back several days later for seconds...Design - We asked for so much... We had a 4 layer cake with 4 different types of designs made with buttercream. The way the designs laid so perfectly that its hard to believe this cake wasn't made by machine. How can a human hand create something so perfect?The cake - Our cake was composed of layers of Rasberry Lemon & our all time favorite, the triple berry. Our guests devoured the cake. There was literally not a bite left for us to take home. Would I use use their cake service again? If they would take me. I expect to be banned soon for regularly camping in front of their store to feed my triple berry cake fix. Sweet Lady Jane has been a staple in LA and now in my new wife and I's lives.
