Feedback:
My primary care doctor at this facility was brash and condescending with their bedside manner and care. It's infuriating for someone to call you sweetheart constantly while you're trying to have a serious conversation about your medical care. I had anxiety about dealing with them for nearly any issue because I knew there wasn't really anyone on my side and there would be constant miscommunication. I truly don't feel like I ever left the office satisfied with my care.
Feedback:
My doctors good but the front desk is always pissed off and rude. It used to be a pretty quick pick up when i would call to schedule and they used to be able to get me in the next day or close to it.... Now with this new system im on hold for at LEAST 30 minutes and once they do pick up they are pissy and i cant get in for almost a month. I get they are under stress but #1 front desk rule is dont take it out on clients. Military families deserve better.
Feedback:
I received a bill from here for a mamogram which is covered by tri care but was told I was given a digital one that the government does not pay for I need to pay 700 $ I was never given a choice or told about this not my 1st mamogram at this clinic but my 1st bill why are they doing things at a Madigan clinic that are not covered by insurance or something the government does not pay for in a government clinic so women beware also bill was sent to me 4 mo after the mamogram
Feedback:
I have to give it a 2 star not because of the doctor (he is amazing) but for the clinic itself. It took me 2 months to get ahold of someone there to schedule my 2 year old her checkup. I left voice message after voice message and they never answered or called me back. I had to drive the 20+ minutes and go into the clinic to actually talk to someone. I got it scheduled finally and they call me the night before the appointment to cancel it. Extremely frustrated with this clinic and their lack of organization. If it wasn't for the amazing doctor we would be going elsewhere.
Feedback:
Earlier reviews must have been written before Madigan moved in to this facility. Dr. Sands has been my sounding board, my networker (gaining me access to several specialists), and my rock throughout my 15 month battle with cancer and wearisome, lingering after-effects of my successful treatment. Clinic appointments run on time, with continuity among staff and a wonderful compassionate feeling. I'd be fearfully depressed and at my wits end if I couldn't communicate often with my PCM through the Relay Health email system. Dr. Sands replies to me w/in a day alright, often w/in a couple hours! I have never before felt so taken care of.
Feedback:
As with most patient/physician relationships, there is some give and take and I have disagreed with some of my treatment plans. But my PCM at South Sound does listen and we communicate to get to a solution. You literally cannot beat the access for appointments and pharmacy (extremely short wait times). Anyone who complains about Army medicine can opt to pay the civilian co pays and high costs associated with health care. DoD members who receive care at MTFs/clinics get a very high bang for the buck. My mom pays over $650 a MONTH for her health plan - I pay $47 a month for my entire family as a retiree. Those who chronically complain should give up their benefits and head out the door and pay extremely high out of pocket costs for their health care. They won't receive any higher quality or faster care. The grass is definitely not greener on the other side.
Feedback:
This facility is awesome. Rarely have to wait to see the doctor .. and the pharmacy is very fast. I can call my doctors nurse and leave messages. The new system allows you to request prescription refills online. Best thing that has happened as a clinic option in this area .... versus driving to Madigan. And I give Madigan the same 5 Star rating.
Feedback:
This is an abusive and neglectful clinic. The clinic's doctor's have the worst patient care I have ever experienced. The first one decided to make me his guinea pig, transferring off established OTC pharmacotherapy to try his methods that didn't work, and could result in a false positive for drug testing, resulting in months of pain and suffering. Furthermore, he put my son's health at unnecessary risk after my son had pneumonia, and denied him care when my son had a severe allergic reaction to his medications. Finally, he decided to humiliate me and not believe me when I told him I had a UTI, and instead made us do cultures first that took 2 days, to where when I needed to return because I did in fact have a UTI, I nearly had 3 "accidents" just driving the 45 minutes to get to the clinic. After I switched to another doctor, she decided to treat me with drugs that-in her own words-may not work, while I had bronchitis. I had already told her those meds didn't work on me in the past, and that I hadn't slept in days because I couldn't stop coughing. She treated me like a drug-seeker for asking for a good cough syrup, denied writing for one, and again, denied writing a prescription for the OTC that was my regular pharmacotherapy, even though she was my PCM. The result was I ended up in the ER for a stupid cough syrup since I still couldn't sleep, and I nearly had several driving accidents just trying to get home I was so sleep deprived and exhausted. Not to mention the loads of wasted time, gas, and effort of mine and others. Not writing for an OTC to get me through all my training is going to severely adversely affect my life, career, and possibly future, since I'm leaving for basic training and they won't let you buy OTC medication while in training. These two doctors couldn't care less if you're suffering or in pain. They don't care if it took years of trial and error to find out what works best for your body. If it doesn't fit within what they know and understand, you're their guinea pig. It's not about patient care, it's about whatever their feelings are and preconceived notions about the subject matter are. They and their staff will treat you like a drug-seeking patient, and they will blow you off, ignore you, and treat you like a moron. The nurses will miss quote you and roll their eyes at you. The pharmacy and lab staff are nice enough and caring, but not the doctors or immunizations. I've only had one positive experience with a part-time doctor there, but the other doctors blew off his recommendations and treated me like an idiot for listening to him. If you can, avoid this clinic and staff as they care only about themselves and not you, your life, or well-being. Just go to the ER. You'll be treated better there. This is exactly what happens when doctors stop listening to patients and decide to conform everyone to what they think reality should be instead of accepting what reality is. I've been to specialists, and I've tried nearly everything, yet they still think they are better experts than I am at what's best for me. The patient advocacy office can't even get them to return phone calls, so don't even try there. THIS is universal health care, and it physically, emotionally, and mentally is going to hurt everyone involved.
