I thank my Pilates instructor for introducing me to Benicia Wellness Center over a year and a half ago. She highly recommended "Dr. David" Arreola and his ART (Active Release Technique) chiropractic care. Not only was she right about Dr. David's extensive knowledge and amazing technique, but I also discovered Functional Medicine when I learned it was Dr. McConnell's specialty. At the time, I was just beginning my journey with gut problems presented in the form of gas, acid reflux, and issues with my mouth & throat. I grabbed the opportunity to learn what Functional Medicine is and have a wonderful functional medicine doctor help me search for the root cause of my gut symptoms, not just throw medications at the symptoms like standard American medicine does. I'm still on my journey. It's a long road after clearing up the H. Pylori bacteria I had, but Dr. McConnell is there every step of the way. I also can't say enough about Coralie and Renee in her front office. Everyone there is wonderful and supportive. Thanks for all you do!June, 2020 -- I’m adding an update, because since I initially wrote this review, I’ve had the pleasure of benefiting from Dr. McConnell’s chiropractic adjustments and her soft tissue Graston Technique. All I can say is “Magic Hands!”.

I have been seeing chiropractors since I was 15 years old. When I moved away from my chiropractor that I had been seeing for 5 years I was worried I would not be able to find a chiropractor that worked well with me.I was so lucky to find Dr. McConnel she was understanding of my issues and my needs. She met me where I was physically and never made me feel as though I could not be helped. The staff is amazing, so friendly! They remember you when you walk in make you feel very welcomed!! They send you a receipt so that you can submit it to your insurance (if your insurance has chiropractic coverage) to get reimbursed!!They have in house massage therapist that work side by side with your chiropractor to work on the issues that you are experiencing!GO GO GO!!! Benicia Wellness Center is amazing!

Dr. David Arreola is a true, modern day, miracle worker! After a year and a half of suffering terribly with plantar fasciitis in my right foot, I was referred to Dr. David by a friend. I had spent hundreds of dollars on all kinds of contraptions - you name it, I bought it - boots, compression socks, foot rollers, shoe inserts and lots of Advil. I tried 16 weeks of physical therapy where they did massage, stretching, electrical pulse therapy, cupping, etc... all to no avail. I was an active 54 year old and worried that I would never walk pain free again. After 3 weeks of treatment with Dr. David, I began to notice a marked improvement. It is now 2 1/2 months later, and I am to walk with very little or no pain. I am back to exercising and walking 5-6 miles a day, just as I did before the injury. Dr. David and his ART therapy, along with proper stretching and foam rolling, have fixed my foot!! He assures me that I will get to the point where I have absolutely no pain at all anymore and I have no reason to doubt him! I've come so far already in such a short time! I can't thank Dr. David or sing his praises enough!! And the staff there is the friendliest around! I just love Renee and Coralie!!

Dr. McConnell has helped me over the past 7 years with a myriad of health problems and has proven herself to be a multi-faceted, warm, and intelligent overall-health practicioner. Both Anouk and Maggielynn have aided in my recovery with their extensive knowledge of massage therapy and have educated me on the ways that the body's muscle systems are interconnected while providing therapeutic massages that helped both my mobility and pain levels. Coralie is always at the front desk ready to greet me and takes care of all my insurance paperwork and claim management. Can't count the number of people I've recommended this office to, be it for back pain, migraines, car accidents, or any number of health problems that could benefit from the type of integrated functional medicine that Dr. McConnell practices. Make an appointment here and I promise you will be on your way to a massive increase in your quality of life!
