Overall Feedback:
I personally used to work here as a food server, behind doors the staff is incredibly hard working and put their best in the work they do for these residents. What people (as well as myself didn’t realize) was that there is an incredible amount of work behind just being a server. Not only are they responsible for getting the correct food out to residents in a timely matter (along with the special platters such as Purées and Softs), but they also take time to memorize what certain foods people like and dislike. How they like their coffee, or tea. If they like 1 or 3 glasses of water at their plate. If they like gravy or no gravy, if they don’t like their food touching or if they prefer dark chicken over white. Or what their favorite desserts are. Not only were we servers but we were also people/friends to talk to about the “golden days” I remember a resident that came to lunch the next day with a photo of his turtle that he wanted to show me because he thought I would find it interesting because of our conversation the previous day. And I did. I have had several jobs in the past, but I can’t say any of them were as fulfilling as this job. If you are looking for staff that truly care about their residents I definitely recommend Sun City Gardens.
