We love to browse and purchase plants and flowers from the Original Los Angeles Flower Market (OLAFM) on Saturday mornings whenever we're in town. The key to getting the freshest and the best quality is to come to the Flower District early morning. We're usually here by 7:00am or 8:00am on Saturdays.The OLAFM is the single largest and most successful flower district in the United States. It encompasses 6 city blocks but let me tell you, just walking around you can feel like you're getting in your 10K steps especially if you're carrying or carting around your purchases. The OLAFM is open Monday through Saturday to both trade and general public. Their operating hours to GENERAL PUBLIC are as follows: Monday & Wednesday 8am - 12pm Tuesday & Thursday 6am - 11am Friday 8am - 2pm Saturday 6am - 2pmThere is a $2 weekday admission fee or $1 on Saturday. We usually park in the secure rooftop parking structure of the OLAFM. Its entrance is located on the west side of San Julian Street between 7th and 8th Streets. There are limited metered stalls available nearby but it's so much more convenient to park in the structure especially if you have purchases to pack into your car.TIP: If you know that you're interested in large floral arrangements or plants, I would recommend that you bring a wheeled cart to put your buy(s) in. Also, you might want to line your car trunk with plastic or some sort of tarp if you purchase potted plants, there WILL be dirt in the flower pots.

Even if you don’t get here until 10:30am, there are still plenty of flowers to choose from. With COVID 19, not every vendor was there but I had no problems finding the gorgeous hydrangeas and peonies I was looking for. Also, many of the shops that surround the mart we’re also open, enabling me to check off everything on my list. Parking is best in one of the many lots that pepper the area but during the quarantine, I was able to find a meter spot right by the entrance!

Great service! I love how they displayed and arranged their flowers in their shop. It was lovely and captivating. Besides, the florist that arranged the flowers that I ordered was very nice and wonderful. She was very helpful, informative, and talented. I mean, I was admired and impressed by his way of working. I love their sample arrangements for tables, a bouquet for weddings, even a simple set of flowers to your loved ones. Their shop was blooming with flowers and it smells so good inside. The florists were very talented and skillful while I requested for customized rose-tulip arrangements for my mom. And the result was beautiful! I loved it as my mom loved it, too!

My husband surprised me with a gorgeous arrangement of flowers for Valentine's Day. We have going here for flowers for years and we have never been disappointed. Nellie has been working her magic on birthday arrangements, our wedding flowers and everything in between. We have never been disappointed in their service, their arrangements or their prices. We highly recommend this local gem in Carson. Thanks for always taking care of us Nellie - you are awesome !!!

I don’t live in the same city as my grandmother, and so I love to send her flowers to make her feel a little extra love. Her favorite flower is a Lilium stargazer lily, which isn’t uncommon, but out of the flower shops, only this flower shop was able to deliver them! So I liked that they had a wide selection of flowers. I highly recommend this flower shop!

Customers can choose from a single bloom or boxed collection. Their preserved flowers are excellent keepsakes as they will continue radiating natural beauty for at least 2-5 years. You can buy them for yourself as home décor or send it to your loved ones for almost any occasion. They also accept orders for giveaways or wedding gifts for sponsors.

I needed a unique gift for my interior designer cousin who needs for nothing and had a limited amount of time. I was walking down 16th and out of the corner of my eye spotted this beautiful, charming shop. The gentlemen who run it are beyond knowledgeable and talented. I highly recommend stopping by to say hello to this new neighborhood gem and support them by having them filling all your floral needs.

One of my favorite places to wander in LA! Love that this place is open to the public and not just wholesalers. Such good prices and the best selection--even if you're not really needing flowers, it's just a pretty place to peruse. I would note that some vendors are cash only and some close on the earlier side, so if you're wanting to totally take advantage of the experience, get there earlier in the day with some cash on you.One thing I didn't realize (but it totally makes sense) is this place has some of the best holiday decor (pine wreaths, garlands, etc) in town. Picked up the best box wood wreath for $20 this weekend. Score! They also have some nice little planters, pots, etc if you'd like to make your flower outing more of a one stop shop. Looking for trendy stuff like pampas grass and palms? They've got you covered there too.It's worth noting that this is a pretty busy part of downtown and basically overlaps with the fashion district, so get ready to hunt for parking. Looks like other Yelpers had some good recs on lots--I usually just circle and grab a meter when it comes available.
