Each one comes with a nice side of french fries, the kind that have a little crunchy coating that just adds to the delightfulness. In addition. you get a side of cole slaw and a wedge salad. We aren't wedge people, so we chose to upgrade to their Caesar salad...again, very generous. The take out container measured a good 9 x 6 inches. Honestly, we ended up bringing it home for the next day.

Reserved an outdoor seating for a Tuesday night. Checked in 15 minutes early over the phone (covid policy) and we were seated right after checking in! Outdoor tables were far apart, it was a rainy day but area was in a very nicely covered tent so it didn’t matter. Service was great. Food was amazing. We had bang bang shrimp and fried squid for apps, for main we had lobster and haddock with newburg sauce, and pan seared shrimp. The bang bang shrimp was sooo good! The fried squid had cheese on it , kinda weird but it was ok. My lobster and fish was great!! Sauce was amazing. Rice was yummy too. The seared shrimp was just alright nothing special. But still good. This is our first time eating out during the pandemic and im impressed that the staff are doing so great with service and food! I hope to be back soon.

My wife and I live on Cape Cod, so we know a good lobster roll. We drove up to Worcester to visit our aunt this afternoon who's been stuck in a retirement home with no visitors this spring (Covid-19), and wanted to bring her a treat. Asked a local friend who recommended The Sole Proprietor. Very good choice! We got 3 lobster rolls, the ¼ pound small size for just $17, and let me tell you, they were anything but small! I wish I had taken a photo to show you....this roll was overflowing with big chunks of lobster claw meat, just a light touch of mayo, and no fillers like lettuce which some places use. The roll itself was an above average brioche roll, grilled golden brown in real butter. Great weekday specials! Food was spectacular!Update June, 2020. Dropped rating to 3 stars. Ordered takeout for our 30th. Main course was OK, definitely did not meet our expectations based on the last few times we went. Also, they forgot to include the salad. Dessert 🍮 was good. Maybe it was because they were limited to just takeout due to the pandemic? I hope so as we've had good experiences prior.

This restaurant serves really fresh and delicious fish. We've had both large family gatherings and just dinner for two with equal enjoyment. Yummy fish stews, fried fish and main dinners, without complaint. We've occasionally been lucky without a reservation at odd times but don't count on that or you could be sorely disappointed. It's a keeper. .

Had an impromptu dinner here on a Wednesday night, which is good because that’s probably one of their least busy days (it’s still packed). The Manhattan was delightful, I accidentally spilled it a little multiple times and our waiter Matt actually made a little more and brought it to me. He said “you spill, I refill”. Is that not the cutest? Our other waiter Yuri was so sweet and attentive, and overall the service was excellent. That’s part of them charm of this place. The seafood sauté my husband got was AMAZING. My tuna crunch roll was quite good for a non-sushi restaurant! Our clam chowder was smaller than expected but it was delicious. Good place to splurge a little!

Been coming for over 20 years and still one of my favorite restaurants not only in Worcester, but the entire northeast. Fish is fresh and tasty, chowder is delicious, shrimp and apps are always great. Nice atmosphere but it can get very crowded and noisy. Only real downside is the somewhat limited parking spaces and lot that’s tough to navigate during peak hours. Highly recommended!!!

Food was amazing, extremely fresh and well prepared. Now the bad, staff while friendly and attentive lacked proper restaurant food and drink etiquette. It was observed not just at my table but others as well, drinks coming to the table with unwrapped straws already placed in them and when plecing plates staff would often place fingers on the upper surface of the plate not in the food but near it. It gave a sense of uncleanness.

We all have our bad moments, but how do we deal with them? We have become accustomed to terrific food and excellent service at the Sole Proprietor. But last night something happened and my dinner did not come out quite the way it should have. As soon as the waiter found out he acted quickly, politely and graciously. Not only did they prepare another meal (and it came out perfectly) but they did so quickly. Both the waiter and manager were attentive and apologetic. On top of that they also did not charge for meal. Way above and beyond my expectations.They did the Right Thing and with grace!Thank you Sole Proprietor.

This is a fantastic place with great food offerings. When I was an administered assistant at Allegro Microsystems, I'd book this restaurant for our Japanese clients. I've been here in the past and have had wonderful experiences. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a great fish dinner offerings. The atmosphere is great too.
