My wife and I live on Cape Cod, so we know a good lobster roll. We drove up to Worcester to visit our aunt this afternoon who's been stuck in a retirement home with no visitors this spring (Covid-19), and wanted to bring her a treat. Asked a local friend who recommended The Sole Proprietor. Very good choice! We got 3 lobster rolls, the ¼ pound small size for just $17, and let me tell you, they were anything but small! I wish I had taken a photo to show you....this roll was overflowing with big chunks of lobster claw meat, just a light touch of mayo, and no fillers like lettuce which some places use. The roll itself was an above average brioche roll, grilled golden brown in real butter. Mmm mmm!!!Each one comes with a nice side of french fries, the kind that have a little crunchy coating that just adds to the delightfulness. In addition. you get a side of cole slaw and a wedge salad. We aren't wedge people, so we chose to upgrade to their Caesar salad...again, very generous. The take out container measured a good 9 x 6 inches. Honestly, we ended up bringing it home for the next day.Our 94 year old aunt couldn't have been more delighted, either. Of course, they never serve lobster rolls in a nursing home!Next time we drive up this way to visit, we will make a point of returning to The Sole Proprietor! You should, too!
