My two cents on the state of dispensaries and weed -I'm a big fan of The Joint. But first off, no one person or thing is perfect. In fact I have issues with all dispensaries. But I have the least problems at The Joint. This is coming from someone who spends at least 10 hr a week hunting for weed and I have been to almost all Denver area dispensaries. Just as in life, if you don't like something you can always seek to find a better way or different place of business. We've sort of forgotten that in 2020 - there is always another way, another company, another person that can replace those you have issues with.Honestly the weed world and world of dispensaries is rapidly changing and evolving. We are all sort of BETA testers permanently. Some of what is changing is our understanding of the science of weed: we are getting away from THC count, from sativa/indica to a much better understanding of what it is in weed that affects us. To that point we are all highly individualized beings and what works for one may not you, or what someone finds couch locking, may be uplifting to another. As this science begins to be better understood, so is your budtenders understanding. Of course there are still "models" out there that push stuff based on THC count or price point. While I don't think those models are honest given the better understanding we know have, that does get me to my next point: dispensaries are capitalistic. Some have a business model based on just selling like a used car lot. While others not only want to sell but also do it based on our now better understanding of the weed plant. Regardless one had to expect, as with any business in a capitalistic society, that there is a bottom line and when you really really get to the foundation of said business it is to make money. Why one store charges X for the same thing another stores charges less for is really frustrating. But as do gas stations and groceries stores, this isn't new. There is no "Tylenol" for everyone. The weed industry is still the wild west and much is also driven by tax, fear of the feds and over regulation. This makes it very hard for a business to really settle into itself. It is also being "corporatized", including The Joint. But I don't automatically mean that in a negative way, rather things are rapidly changing and corporations tend to operate differently than small businesses. We can argue the positive and negative of that issue another day.We also have forgotten "you gotta put the work/time in" to get the rewards. Users should do more research, visit more dispensaries or do what i do and have about 6 (of the 100+ i have visited her in denver) in your rotation. This keeps your strain options varied and your tenders will rotate as well. Also I have spent the time to get to know the tenders at The Joint, showed interest in their lives and their weed smoking and in turn they engage in my interests and what strains I prefer. Think about how better your day to day interactions are at businesses/people that you have a relationship with are? And no, not every tender at The Joint has the same knowledge, the same rapport with me, but please tell me where in your life everything is perfect and exactly as you demand!! The people at The Joint I do feel make a concerted effort to be the best they can be. Again, one tender may care less about the science and will smoke anything all the time, while another is much more sensitive and nuanced. I fall on the nuanced side myself.Don't even get me started on the hype machine, instagram accounts and VIP lists for super boujee brands that none of the masses get to try. If your stuff is that good and "works" you don't need to create hype to generate massive lines to get an 1/8 or instagram followings. And just because you scale up your grow, that does not mean your product quality will drop. A terrible misnomer in the business. You also don't need to scale up in one giant mega facility. You can have smaller, more quality control grows that mimic the highly focused grows that are currently in operation.

I’m done with this place. It used to be the hip/chill neighborhood shop. Now it’s got a shiny corporate facade. The worst part is that they clearly don’t care about their customers anymore. I placed an order over the phone and confirmed I needed to wait in the line outside (no biggie). So I wait for 20 minutes behind 15 people, get to the front of the line, and am told that I need to head to the back and start over because I didn’t turn in my ID ahead of time to save my spot. There is no sign with this info which is visible from the end of the line. I finally make it inside, and there are a grand total of TWO employees working on a Friday night. The Joint is now filled with large TVs fancy scanners and expensive nicknacks - but no employees. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Way to sell out, guys.
Feedback:
So I brought a cartridge today and specifically asked that I get a certain mouthpiece. I was told that the most expensive product is what I would need. I even pointed to a picture that displayed the mouthpiece I did not want. The bud tender was super sweet and told me that a certain product would be exactly what I wanted. I walked out of the store and opened up the product only to find that it was exactly what I did not want. I was not upset at first because I know mistakes are made, but they did nothing to resolve the situation. I walked back into the store with the product that I bought, and was immediately told that it was unacceptable to bring product back into the store. I replied that I wanted my money back and was told that it is illegal to do so. I was sold a product that I did not want and apparently one for which I could not return or get a refund. Then, the manager told me that they would call the police on me because I would not leave the store without a refund. I'm currently standing outside the store, about an hour after they threatened me with the police. This over principle. I do not want to spend my entire night standing outside a store. But, I've been wronged and I'm not going to be bullied out of it. There are so many amazing places to go and purchase weed in Colorado, please do not waste your time here.Editing my review after a worthless response from the owner. All of a sudden it's unacceptable for me to leave a negative review at two different weed stores? While you're looking at my review history, take a look at the two shops I left with 5 star reviews. You might learn something.
Feedback:
Manager haley was upset about my ID card being cracked. I understand rules are rules. But she proceeds to bend it even more to make the crack more definable. Completely rude and unprofessional. No wonder they never have a line. The front door security guy was so cool. But you can tell by the look on his face he hates dealing with her too!
Feedback:
The joint is not the best dispensary in Colorado they advertise daily deals on their website and then refuse to honor them I drove halfway across town on a Friday night to make sure I was after 8 PM to get 10% off so I show up at five after eight and they close the doors on me the next day I go in on a Saturday they refuse to serve me because I don’t have a face covering so the joy management is piss poor
Feedback:
Still shop here but far from the place it used to be. In the new place they can’t seem to figure out how to use all the space properly. The lighting to actually see the weed is horrible compared to the old building next door where they had amazing lighting for the product. And last but not least they took away the rewards program over 6 months ago and refuse to bring it back and give countless excuses as to why they don’t have one in place. Wouldn’t you want to give your loyal customers a benefit of shopping with you?
Feedback:
We were in line and got skip twice. When we said something the lady said that it wasn't our turn yet. Then we went inside to buy what we came to buy and we said something to the lady she said it's been kind of a crazy day. Unfortunately some people just don't know how to apologize and say that they're sorry. Unfortunately I think they've lost a long-time customer.😞
Feedback:
A pretty decent dispensary. Beware though. They sell certain products, disposable vape pens that I bought that barely ever worked. Seriously INDVR vape pens that functioned for 1-2 days and then battery blinked and failed. Maybe you guys should tell someone on the business side to invest in quality control so you are selling things that actually function. What a giant waste of money for me. I’ll go elsewhere.
Feedback:
Used to be the place. Now it’s always a long wait for average weed, at above average pricing. Been going to another dispensary for months now. Came back to see if things have gotten better. Sad to say, they have not. Still an extremely long wait and still just average weed. Luckily, usually just get a gram anyways. ..however seems to be quite a few seeds 😒... on a good note, the caviar is quite good .. 🔥

Best dispensary in Denver. Great selection of really good quality products. For what is worth I work in the industry for one of the largest publications and run several other cannabis focused businesses. I've been lucky enough to travel all over the country sampling cannabis and The Joint is where I choose to do my shopping when I am home in Denver.
