Love this place. My only complaint is that they're not bigger and open longer hours. They are rarely out of the items that we buy all the time and were one of the first grocery stores in the area to actually enforce social distancing measures as the result of covid-19. They clearly take the safety and health of their members seriously. The prices are also better than most others for almost everything we buy.

OB People's Coop is one of the best places in town to get fresh and healthy food. It's a member owned Coop (I've been a member since moving to San Diego in 2007) but anyone can shop there for a small price bump. People's stocks almost all organic produce and a lot of it is local to San Diego county for folks who care about their food's carbon footprint. They do not stock any animal products that require the harming of animals. You can find bulk organic maple syrup (Maine girl here- I need my maple syrup) and bulk local honey to help with seasonal allergies as well as bulk oils, grains, nuts, and many other bulk items for those of us who prefer to go home from shopping with less packaging. They have a kitchen upstairs with great salads and hot dishes, coffe and tea, baked goodies, and a comfortable seating area. Check it out.

WOW I can’t believe everybody in San Diego isn’t rushing to this store. It’s 100% organic and decently priced. There peanut butter and honey dispenser is just unbelievably good. The other good thing about this place is that it’s owned by the people, there’s no corporate greed here. I feel great about shopping here! They really need to improve their marketing game because I never heard of this place until a friend told me about it.

There are no words for how much I love and appreciate this place. It literally lifts my mood to come here. The grocery is everything I need, as I try to eat lots of veggies etc. and the dry goods are all that. The people who work here are some of the best most interesting people in the world. If you’re looking for good meats, this isn’t the place to go though. If you’re looking to get your mind blown and eat KALE and ENJOY IT, get ready. The deli makes healthy food that you will want to eat again and again. I can never believe what I’m willing to eat the way they put it together. Standouts: mock chicken salad, tempeh brekkie sandos and absolutely anything they make for dessert. This place deserves 11 stars(out of five they are that good). Come in and join today.

My daughter and I live the sit down area on the balcony here! Great food and great atmosphere close to the beach and walkable to everything!! Really cute store also as you walk in and the kids area with toys and clothes to look in as you first enter the store. We loved it there! And it just feels more quaint and cozy than a regular grocery store even though it’s still plenty big and has everything one could need! And more than you could ever think that a place could offer. It has real local and Unix products also!

Sign up for membership. Enjoy the deli upstairs. Breakfast so far my favorite. You must try Homemade biscuit with gravy and tofu scramble. Freshly squeezed orange juice.Thats like breakfast of champions.Great produce and prices. Everybody should come here and have the breakfast of a lifetime.

. If you look homeless or have face tattoos prepare to be blatantly followed. I dont do drugs steal or break things im a vegan gluten sensitive stoner that reads all the ingredients..slowly. No offense to the cook but...The vegan gravy is bland and tempeh sausage was all spice/pepper and no flavor. - thats not meant to be an insult but you need to step up your vegan cook game. 5 bux in the trash. Wish i could get a refund :/On a positive note They have good vegan options for shelf and refrigerated and they have frozen beyond burgers- mmmmAnd vegan pistachio ice cream only place ive ever seen it....

This place is heaven on earth. OB would not be OB without it. Peoples has got the best produce selection I have ever seen on the mainland United States. Everything in this store is so thoughtfully curated and it feels great to trust that anything you see in that store has met a certain criteria of standards. The deli upstairs is a staple for me. This place is not only a vegetarian or vegan's dream, but an excellent place for non-veg individuals to enjoy the best of the best quality food.

One of the best little stores that San Diego has to offer, this place is very unique excellent products on the first floor and then a great vegan restaurant on the second floor with plenty of unique seating that is in multiple hidden areas on the top floor there's a really nice sitting area past the food ordering area with a Terrace View..... they also have a really excellent bulletin board out front and you can find locals Flyers for holistic businesses excetera.... a good-sized parking lot and then they have one extra restaurant that is just a few feet away from the store ....so two restaurants total!

I first went there on a stop from a bike ride. We went inside and each one of us filled up their backpacks with organic produce and delicious items from their deli. I really like those breakfast sandwiches they make and they’re marked chicken salad as well as their organic muffins made in house daily and all that delicious deli items they have
