Bruises on my arm and an emotional recovery. That was my morning after being inappropriately mistreated by the “men” at the front door of Top Shelf. I had 2 drinks over the coarse of 2.5 hours and had done absolutely nothing to warrant being grabbed, shoved, and screamed at. Come to find after sharing my experience that mistreatment of women and the transient community is unfortunately all to common for these men. Trying to build up their power rush by abusing women and bums.... I won’t be handing over another cent to support this establishment and I’m extremely shook by my experience.

Great martinis are the reason you come back. The bartenders know their stuff, make good suggestions, and are friendly.The live music is a little loud. Yes, you want to hear it, but you also want to chat with your friends. The crowd was mixed, but fun. We will be back, the martinis are beckoning!

A really good mix of bar and tables. Relaxed open minded people, friendly patrons. And the drinks are great at a very reasonable price. I like the old brickstone ambience with the comforting light. Almost cozy if the chairs would be hard and music a bit loud (not too loud). And it is downtown Vancouver and still there's lots of free parking.

The food, drinks and entertainment were fantastic. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The only thing I would say I didn't like was the bathroom smelled strongly of urine. Whoever cleans the bathrooms may need a lesson on how to sanitize. Other than that little complaint I would highly recommend checking out Top Shelf. They even have dancing on Friday and Saturday nights.

I've never been here to eat, just to hang out with friends to drink and dance. Very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights after 10 PM and the bathroom situation isn't very ideal since there's a narrow walkway before waiting behind 5-6 others on two separate bathrooms, both unisex. Other than that, I always have a good time here. 5 stars if the venue was bigger and the restroom were a bit more accessible without having to push your way through.

I would never in my life recommend anyone to go to this place. They have some of the most raciest people working for them, mainly the bouncers. Kicking someone out after having one drink because they “fit the discription” of someone they had already had a problem with. And when we asked what this discription was, he said brown and that was it. Screw this place, and history will repeat itself & it’ll go down hill and they’ll have to sell again.

This place was awesome! I met the owner, Jared, he was Hella tight!!!! He gave me some pretty delicious jello shots. Over all fun night!P.s. Joe made the cherry cola. So good!

I really like this place. I've probably been in about ten times since I've moved to downtown Vancouver, and this place never gets old. Great drinks and great people behind the bar. If you like spicy, try the mango salsa martini. It's got some serious kick, and is a favorite of mine. If it's a couple of rounds with some friends, or a cocktail with your lady before dinner, I highly recommend this place. One word of advise, is know when to go. It gets packed in a hurry at times, so getting a table can be tough at certain times.
