My now fiancé and I did a photo shoot with Shaun to capture my proposal, and the overall experience was fantastic! Shaun was professional and responsive with coordinating the surprise photo shoot, and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout the beach setting shoot. Our pics came out amazing, and I would definitely recommend.P.S. A drink or two before the photo shoot also helps to relax the nerves ; )

Choosing Top Shelf Photo was one of the best choices we made for our wedding day! We discovered the photos this amazing Photographer had captured for others while looking through photos on Instagram in search for my make-up artist. I paused at a photo by Shaun and was captivated by the beauty of the photo itself. Shaun’s photos are so unique in the way they play with light, reflections, and backgrounds. After scrolling through Top Shelf Photo Instagram page and website, we immediately (last minute) booked Shaun- the head photographer and owner of Top Shelf Photo. After an initial conversation with Shaun, we knew he was the one! He was attentive to detail, is a good listener, and made me feel comfortable. The price point was comparable to other photographers we found. He never tried to upsell us or make us buy packages that we were not interested in. We were married in November (Thanksgiving week) and we wanted our shots to be outdoors, in a wooded area setting. Shaun helped us pick the perfect spot and since it was Autumn, the shots were amazing!The day of, Shaun was very professional. He arrived with his all of his equipment on time, and started working right away. The entire time, he kept us on our timeline and made sure we got all the photos in that we wanted. Shaun was excellent in handing all the details, such as fixing my dress, repositioning by bouquet, straightening up my husband’s tux, and removing tree branches to capture perfect shots. For instance, when the sun was setting, it created this beautiful sun glare and warmth of color tones– Shaun made sure we were able to capture all the different textures in the wooded area. He captured beautiful moments which we are so very grateful for! We were blown away. All the photos have exceeded our expectations and captured every moment so elegantly.All in all, we recommend Top Shelf Photo! Shaun’s photos are unique and beautiful – every photo is edited and personalized. It does not feel at all like a cookie-cutter photoshoot. Shaun is professional, courteous, funny and knowledgeable- with a very positive vibe! He surpassed all our expectations. If there was one thing we did not regret from our wedding, it was choosing Shaun from Top Shelf Photo! Thank you Shaun!!

Shaun is the most talented and gifted photographer. We just did our holiday photos after already doing our pregnancy photo with him earlier this year. Shaun never ceases to amaze and always exceeds my expectations. Even with our 4 month old baby, Shaun really worked with us to get those photos of our baby smiling. You will not find a more talented photographer who will work with you to ensure you get the photos you are dreaming of. Shauns turnaround time is also lightening fast. The photos are always in my inbox with a day or two. It's amazing! Shaun also did our engagement photos and our wedding! He is just the best and we will continue to use him for all of our family photos!

Shaun is absolutely the BEST!! My fiancé and I are NOT comfortable in front of the camera and Shaun takes all of the stress out of it. Somehow he catches all of the magical moments in between where a couple is natural. He shot me asking josh to marry me at Balboa Park and also our engagement pictures at the beach. I’m am SO happy with all the pictures & can’t wait to see what comes for the wedding! THANK YOU SHAUN!!!

I've been meaning to write this review for a while. We chose Top Shelf Photo for family portraits and I couldn't be happier! Shaun is professional, laid back, and easy to talk to. He was able to put us all at ease and take the nervous edge off that often comes with taking pictures. It just felt like my family walking around the park - relaxing. He got some amazing shots that I will cherish forever. He was so great with our 4 year old that she did well for the entire hour! He cracked jokes with her, made her feel like she was his little helper. He showed her pictures on his camera as he took them. I would highly recommend! His wedding photos are breathtaking also. His turnaround time was great - we got our pictures very fast! They are now hanging on my wall, and I smile every time I walk past.

Shaun Hagen with Top Shelf Photo did an amazing job on our photos. Some of the best photos even came in a cute memerable jewlery box with a flash drive of all of our photos. He knew where to be and how to take amazing photos! He even had more then one camera; very professional. I would defently hire Shaun Hagen again for all future events and annual photos.

Shaun was absolutely fantastic. I had spent months researching for a good photographer. The first one I had originally contacted was booked for our date but highly recommended Shaun to me. One of the best decisions of our wedding planning!! We were a bit nervous that it would be only Shaun, no assistant at our wedding, but Wow! he captured tons of fabulous, precious moments. I've spent hours staring over and over those beautiful photos he took of our wedding and each time I fall a bit more in love with what was captured. He has a keen eye for photos full of depth accented with gorgeous lighting. We both feel incredibly awkward in front of the camera so the fact that Shaun was so professional and patient eased us into the idea of having someone following us around all day and working with us to get a good shot. My only regret is that we didn't hire Shaun for more hours (which may have been a blessing in disguise because we had Stone IPA on tap and strong margaritas flowing all night) Shaun, we worked with many vendors to plan our wedding and we thank you for being one of the absolute best. You went above and beyond every time we had a concern and the quality of the product you delivered succeeded expectations. You are truly Top Shelf.

Shaun is a great combination of professional and personable. Very down to earth and funny, with a great eye. I showed my parents our engagement photos and my dad's eyes welled up with tears. Excellent job and can't wait to see what we accomplish at our wedding in March!

After interviewing several photographer my wife and I selected Shaun for our wedding photographer. It was a great decision. His photos were beautiful! My wife and I loved them all. He was very professional and easy to work with. My friends and family are all jealous because our photos look better than theirs. The price was very reasonable and well worth it!

Shaun was absolutely wonderful. He did our engagement photos and we could not be happier. Not only does he know what he's doing, but he also really seems to enjoy his work. We felt comfortable and relaxed, and the photos are breathtaking. (Upon showing them to a friend, she started crying, saying, "that is just so beautiful.") I don't think it gets any better than that. We also used Top Shelf Photo for our wedding, which was the best decision we could have made. Our photos turned out amazingly well. I couldn't recommend him any more enthusiastically. We'll definitely be booking him for future events.
