This a great little small busniess. They carry a variety of feeds. Good selection of poultry over the past couple years. However im growing tired of them politicizing their busniess. Its painfully obvious they are liberals. They require maks to go into the store, even though stores like safeway and fredmeyer with hundreds of people do not require this. I can pick up pizza. And go to many reasturants without a mask, but in order to buy my livestock feed I need a mask? Now they are closing their busniess early to support protestors that have destroyed many small businesses throughout the country and basically taking a political stance. I suggest focusing on being a farm, garden, and livestock supply store. Leave your opinions and political stance at home where it belongs.

Eastside Urban Farm and Garden is a cool spot to pick up plants and agricultural supplies, I enjoy their large selection of soil amedments and their mushroom growing/bee keeping/canning/home brew gear. Nice employees, a cool, free seed library where folks can donate unwanted seed and beneficial insects such as predatory nematodes and lady bugs are available for purchase year round. Support small, local businesses, not big box stores.
Feedback:
We drove 50 miles one way yesterday to see if they had any chicks for sale. We were told they were getting more today and we could come in at 10 to get them. We came back this morning and were told we had to get on a waiting list and come back when they texted, despite being told none of this yesterday when we there. They lack communication skills and empathy. If all their employees could get on the same page about their processes, it would certainly be helpful. 200 miles on the odometer and we have 0 chickens.
Feedback:
I got into gardening earlier this year, and EUF&G has been my go to store; I'm there at least once a week, and I live 40 minutes away. Well worth the drive and the I5 traffic.I started with gardening, buying NON GMO plants and seeds (their selection is amaziiiiing) mostly seeds from local sources (don't get me started on the wonderful seed exchange they have--go see yourself), soil, soil amendments, you name it.Then I got into chicken keeping and they supply everything for that too: chickens, feed, tons of poultry supplies, etc etc.If you go upstairs, you'll find a ton of DIY supplies for bee keepers, soap making, canning, and so much more. What drew me to them in the first place is that it isn't a big box store, it's small, homey, the staff is full of smiles, they're knowledgeable, engaging, enthusiastic, and above all helpful. They carefully source their products, and I can't explain how much I greatly appreciate that because I'm always searching for products that are as natural as possible. They even supply feed from my hometown two states away, so I always get that sense of home when I see the Modesto Mills products--though this is a more personal thing and most can't relate haha.I love this store. Absolutely love it, and I recommend it to anybody who wants to listen. I've been to tons of farm and garden stores in my search for a supplier for my farm and garden hobbies, and Eastside Urban is without a doubt my number one go-to.

This place is the best. If you're depressed, come in and watch and listen to the baby chicks! If you have houseplants, buy your vermiculite and perlite here, in bulk. Much, much cheaper. All their plants are raised organically, and they're knowledgeable about - you guessed it - urban farming. Books, seeds, plant and farm animal supplements, all in a pleasant store with pleasant staff.
Feedback:
This is a great place if you are looking for plants, trees, live chickens, gardening items or farming supplies. They have a large selection of all the above and their products are high quality. We've had good luck with the chicks and plants we've gotten here. There is also a little play area for the kids (or adults) and an old lazy farm cat that sleeps curled up around the store. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are a bit more than home depot or other chains ...but quality is good and it's completely worth it to support a local business.
Feedback:
The owners and staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. You can expect one-on-one attention here if you need it. This has been invaluable to me as a developing gardener. Their philosophy when it comes to seeds, starts, education, and urban food growing/preservation is extremely transparent and contagious. It is such a wonderful feeling to be a part of a business that is doing the right thing and doing a very quality job. They have my full support and receive all of my referrals! Make this your go-to if you want to learn a lot and be a part of a great mission, all while experiencing extremely high quality products.
Feedback:
I buy food and bedding for my ducks here. But this place is so much more. From potting soil to seed and bedding plants; from books on every aspect of food production to all the equipment for food presentation; from a vast array of high quality gardening tools to anything you might need to raise chickens, ducks, and rabbits, this store has it all. Plus knowledgeable and helpful employees and a generally welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for urban farmers from wannabes to experts.
Feedback:
Super impressed by the outstanding customer service we had on each and every visit!! So sorry to hear you did not have the same experience, Jonah. We literally went 3 times and bought nothing, just looked at baby ducks and chicks to plan & prep for our purchases. Finally went and picked out 8 chicks yesterday and the person who helped us was fabulous, we were so indecisive and kept adding to our little pile and he was great; so patient and made sure we left the store with everything needed to get going on our chicken endeavor. Our car got loaded up before we even had our baby strapped in his car seat. Thank you!!!!
Feedback:
If you are looking for baby chicks, plants, tools, dog food, informative books, seeds, soil, or something else garden or farm related, this is the place for you. They are locally owned and very nice. They even offer classes on a variety of things like bee keeping, cheese making, and more.
