There were several things I liked about the Ahimsa Vegan Cafe. The friendliness of the staff, was the openness and brightly lit table spaces, and the large variety of eats. It's not often you get such a large plate at a vegan restaurant though and ours was king size. I see why the carry out boxes were prominently positioned on the counter. You needed them. I don't mind paying a bit more for a meal when I can continue to enjoy it the next day. I recommend the spinach soup and the Mediterranean wrap.

My first time visiting Ahimsa....Ordered a ahimsa burger, ahimsa salad, & blt sandwich w/fries & a ginger lemonade & a date shake..... I ordered online and once I arrived, only had about a 5 minute wait. Atmosphere was great and everything was fresh and delicious. . A bit expensive.... But worth it... I look forward to visiting again.

We were pretty disappointed with our first meal here. When ordering we were asked what sides we wanted with the burgers but weren't told that it was extra. We ordered off the fall menu the buffalo cauliflower and the pizza. Our total came to nearly $80, which was surprising, but hoped the food would be great. We sat and waited nearly 30 minutes for food. They brought out the 2 burgers for my husband and son who sat and waited to eat until we all had our meals. We had to wait another 5 minutes for the cauliflower to come out and another 5 after that for the pizza to come out. The food was mediocre, they were out of ketchup, the pizza was drowning in sauce. We most likely will not return or recommend to friends and family. For the amount of money spent, we were not happy with the overall experience.

I went here on a visit to my sister-in-law and was blown away! Iām still a little new to vegan cuisine, so I wasnāt certain what to expectāthe food was terrific. The bbq bacon beyond burger and avocado fries were sooo good, and I loved the ginger mint lemonade! The raw pumpkin spice cheesecake was awesome. I had such a nice experience here, Iām already missing those avocado fries!

Not impressed this time. I ordered the BLT, which was at least a 4 last time. I asked the girl to make it without tempeh and with ābaconā. I donāt like tempeh and the last time I ordered it the waitress suggested the substitution. I couldnāt figure it why it was $15 but was in a rush. We ended up waiting nearly 25 minutes and the place was basically empty not only that it had tempeh on it when I got to the car š She charged extra for the ābaconā when I made it very clear what I wanted. I probably wonāt be going there again.

Lots of yummy looking food, but gluten free mostly means getting something wrapped in lettuce or a smaller version of something with a little gluten free tortilla. Figuring out what is gluten free is a bit more challenging than they claim in a paragraph on the menu. Labeling individual items as gluten free or gluten free optional wouldn't be that hard. Also not sure why they can't separate the frier oil, since so many of the fried items here would be gluten free, if not for the few options that aren't, but share the same frier.

Great vegan spot. I came here in a group of about 15 all of us were welcomed and staff was very friendly. I ordered the "Strawberry Spring salad" and a berry smoothie. Everything was delicious (I'm not vegan BTW). The mok chicken was pretty tasty and the fresh strawberries and cucumbers made this dish really refreshing.As a meat eater I have no complaints about this places food will definitely be back to try more dishes.Cons: Parking might be iffy and seats a little on the somewhat uncomfortable side

Oh, wow!! Visiting Long Beach from Ohio. My wife is vegan and I am not. She absolutely loved this place (we don't have a lot of 100% vegan restaurants back home... only 1 in Cincinnati that we know of).# 1.) This was a special treat for her. # 2.) I had the Jalapeno (faux) Cheeseburger and added a fried "egg". I was more than pleasantly surprised. The burger itself was tasty and filling. The fried "egg" however was some kind of magic! The part that resembled the egg white had a little odd in texture (kinda like a soft but chewy jerky in texture... not bad just different). The taste was good, however. But the real magic...that was in the egg "yolk". I grew up eating what we called "dippy eggs). This place nailed it! The yoke was somehow runny and creamy and buttery and it actually tasted like egg yolk. I cannot eat eggs anymore so this was an extra special treat for me! I did a Google search for vegan fried egg and could not find a vendor but did find several recipes. I am inspired to make an attempt at making a vegan fried egg, when our holiday is over. #3.) Last but not least, I also cannot have dairy anymore. A big bummer for me having grown up in the Midwest. Milk and cheese were staples in my diet. Well, I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake, for dessert. Milkshakes and Cheesecake are 2 of the things I miss the most about my recent dietary restrictions. Ahimsa has this recipe down to a science. No one would even know there was no dairy in it, if they didn't read it off the menu. Well done!Overall experience: Bravo!

Ahimsa is a special restaurant. They offer everything vegan and vegetarian on the food menu as well as a broad selection of drinks and smoothies. Kids menu also! Organic milkshakes! They deliver. I think this is the go to restaurant for this cuisine. The interior is very attractive, artfully done. Murals, nice warm colors and plants add a lot. Nice exterior also with seating on the street. Place to lock up you bicycle (important for me because I ride my bicycle all over Long Beach).The employees were very friendly; easy to talk to.
