I recently stopped cleaning for this service, which I believe to be unprofessional and practicing unfair policies towards its employees. I was part of a 3 person team who worked for this company for 2 weeks. As part of the not completely informative hiring process, a phone conversation was the interview and the job manages itself somewhat through an app. The app is finicky and has network connection and note keeping issues. Clients also did not provide enough details about their preferences and we were continually not privy to all of the extras clients expected without paying extra for. Clients were allowed to request specific cleaning items not in our list be used (which means spending more on supplies), without informing us before jobs were scheduled. A cancellation fee was assessed on us when we declined to do homes that were immuno-compromised. We were expected to offer housekeeping AND housecleaning services without having clarifications the majority of the time. As a cleaner, there were multiple issues with the way business and communication were conducted by the company, and I would not recommend this company to anyone in need of consistent work above minimum wage. We were given impractical time periods for job completion and underpaid at each home, on top of their ratings system being a scam in favor of clients booking continuous services at even further discounts. Their pay scale translated to less than minimum wage for the three of us, and we were not allowed to restrict our availability to homes that would allow us to break even financially with our initial investment. We were given unrealistic profit margins which we quickly realized belonged to workers with more than 40 hours per week to spare, or likely a fabrication. I was never allowed to speak to the manager at any time before or during employment and my requests were met with a “she is out of the office” every time I asked. She never returned our calls. Our discipline for low reviews (8 reviews out of 30 homes) came in the form of an unannounced removal from the schedule. Which actually is jumping a step ahead of what is written in the handbook about offering LESS jobs to cleaners with bad reviews instead of none. The image proof we provided in the app of our work magically disappeared when needed. This review is also posted on Facebook and I am happy to share more if necessary. Overall, I’ve learned the best way to clean houses professionally is to go into business for yourself and not allow clients to stretch you thin.
