My first impression of this place is that it's a garden where plants are available to be taken home. The outdoor space is absolutely brimming with happy plants of all sizes so much do that it spills out onto the sidewalk out front. The indoor space has two levels. The second level is accessible by stairs and has a very lovely balcony with more plants and outdoor furnishings.I didn't notice an ADA option to ascend. It would likely be a tough store to navigate anyhow with such narrow aisles all around. Parking is available on the street. Read the signs because some spots are affected by the school nearby. They had a great variety of planters from basic nursery plastic to ceramic and even brushed metal. As you can imagine the nice ones are pricey as are the larger plants. Furnishings and racks can also be purchased here. They even have terrarium components. Literally whatever you may need for basic indoor and outdoor gardening is under this roof. Go check it out!

Purchased a plant from Gingko Gardens with several centipedes in the soil. When I called to ask what could be done whoever I spoke to was actually nice and gave me a product to use that was in their store. When I arrived to purchase it, I walked up to the front counter and was completely ignored. Three men stood their and acted as if they didn’t see me (one was on his cell phone, one was stocking items behind the counter, one was staring off in space). Once I finally got their attention the young man rolled his eyes as if I was bothering him and then proceeded to tell me that the product I was told to purchase over the phone they didn’t have in store. It was very unfortunate because I’ve gotten my last 2 plants before this one from there but I will not be returning. It also sucks when I see their staff happily helping other customers and I have to wonder am I being ignored because I am black. I hope you train your staff about products in your store and better customer service practices.

This place is awesome, seems like every employee has good advice. One of my favorite businesses in the area I go there often and slowly my little apartment is getting filled up with beautiful foliage. Have had several of their plants for months and they seem to be very healthy. Their prices are super fair. You can't really go wrong with Ginko Gardens!

I ran into a girl carrying a huge monstera plant and couldn’t help but ask to take her photo. She indulged my random request and recommended I check out Ginkgo Gardens about 3 blocks away. Ginkgo Gardens is a hidden gem in Capitol Hill. It is a plant lover’s heaven. The shop has a big variety of plants for all plants lovers. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help and give advice on how to care for your new plants. I recommend this shop to anyone who wants to bring some greenery into their space or just need a nice place to walk around and admire the lush plants.

I always find something wonderful to take home from this shop. Healthy plants and an amazing variety to choose from. Awesome selection of pots and soil. Make sure you visit the upstairs and the sun deck, as there are large houseplants up there to see. Love the layout of the outdoor nursery. Have received great service every visit. Miss seeing Ginkgo the shop cat on the checkout counter, R.I.P. sweet guy.

Gingko Gardens is a terrific garden center with wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful people to assist you in selecting the right plants and accessories. In addition to a wide selection of annuals, perennials and house plants, there is also a gift shop. Not only is Gingko Gardens a spectacular urban garden center, but the folks from Gingko help maintain the neighborhood spaces and give back to the community. Highly recommended for plant lovers and those who need help with what to plant.
