I mean what is there not to like!?!? The bus takes you to MOST of the huge points of interest, if you're in town for only a day, it's nice to take the bus for a full circle. You can get as fancy or as... more

Exceptionally poor driver attitude, very long waits to "hop on" bus, claims to stop at places they don't (ex: China Town), recorded tour audio headsets & equipment so bad we couldn't understand any of... more

The best way to explore the city of San Francisco. The bus goes around the city and visits the most interesting city's attracktions. It even crosses the Golden Gate Bridge - you will be able to make the amazing pictures of the Bridge and the City from other side of the bay.I gave 4 stars (and not 5) because there are no more audio commentaries in Russian language available in the bus :(((

I recommend this Tour to everyone wanting to Tour San Francisco. Very convenient, you can just hop on and hop off to the tourist spot. Take the 2 day tour pass including Sausalito and the night Tour. The night Tour you need to have pee'd before hand as the location has no restroom at night. Use a puff jacket w hoodie and or beanie as it a gonna get cold. Tour guide's are funny and engaging!

Just not worth the money. I like the concept and think they are a great idea as a tourist if you don't have much time which was our case. Sorry but a hundred bucks for two ppl.... I expect your buses to turn up every 15-20 minutes as stated on the flyer and not be waiting 30+ minutes in some case. I could see from the app there was a cluster of buses all in the same place. Checked the traffic in the area and all good and was not peak time, basically *some* of the staff are just a s**t show and don't care or can't be organised. Fact! 😐

We did a two day tour with Big Bus last February 2020. The tour varies between guides and buses. Some guides are good, some are not. Some buses are new while some are old, full of vibration, uncomfortable seats and you can smell diesel fume inside. The view of Golden Gate bridge is so much better from the South (Stop 19 Green). So make sure to change bus from Red route to Green route (Sausalito) at Stop 17 to get to the other side. Be mindful of the Lombard Street stop as you have to hike (steep) at least half hour from where they will drop you off to get to the top of Lombard Street. Also make sure to check Groupon prices as sometimes you can get your tickets from them at cheaper price.

The green and red lines are a good way to see the city with commentary around the historical facts as you go along different areas. The night tour is a complete waste so avoid that. They take you to treasure island which is an abandoned military base and you have NOTHING to see there. All buses have an audio guide which is quite good but some have actual guides who provide live anecdotal commentary around the places you cover. I enjoyed this the most. I was however surprised by one the guides telling us that there is no script provided to them and that they have to do their own research on what to say.

This was my 1st time in San Francisco and we only had 1 day to do the hop on hop off bus. It's the best way to familiarise yourself with this beautiful city and it's many famous landmarks. My wife and I were very fortunate to hop on the right bus with Blake and Jessie.... AKA BJ 😂😂 Blake our tour guide was so knowledgeable, funny and entertaining that we decided to stay on the bus the whole route, not getting off once. Hardly anyone got off his bus and those who joined stayed right till the end. So if you're heading to San Francisco's Hop on Hop off do yourself a favour and do the route twice. Once with Blake and Jessie from start to finish then do it again so that you can hop on and off. Thanks for making or day Blake! Andy & Michele Kyriacoudes Team South Africa

Big bus tours is a fun and easy way to explore San Francisco. It's specially helpful if you are sole traveller or small group. For larger groups they can explore other options since the price won't be justified. I took the red tour which cost around 55 dollars when purchased on the bus. Online ticket might work out cheaper. Red route had like 16 stops. The bus frequency is 20 min. If u have only one day to cover san francisco then this would be a good option. Please check out my saved list for details of how I utilised big bus for my one day tour of San Francisco. I had good experience.

We booked our tickets through our local Virgin holiday store, which as a combo ticket, with a ferry to & from Alcatraz, a Chinatown tour, plus it entitled us to three full days, hop on & off, for the price of one day. The full tour takes your around, or near all of the main landmarks & local points of interest! All of the staff, were amazing, very polite & helpful. This is definitely worth buying, especially if like us & you get 3 days, its a bargain! We were also entitled to visit Sausalito, which is also worth a visit! We sat at the back, of the open topped bus, across the Golden gate bridge, which was amazing, just secure loose items & wrap up warm & enjoy the sites of San Francisco & is beautiful bay! A big thank you, to all at Big Bus tours SFO, especially Doug, who was our personal guide, on our Chinatown guided tour & the Bus ticket supervisor, (Sorry we cant remember your name!) who was so kind, when our ticket played up ....👍

I have been on this tour three times and have never been disappointed until my last trip. The drivers were extremely rude and impatient. We were left to stand in the rain and it took ages to let us onto the bus. We went on the tour during a rainy day and had to sit undercover which was okay except for the fact that the water from upstairs leaks onto a majority of the seats downstairs which left us soaking wet. I am so very disappointed because every other time I’ve been on this tour I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Such a pity, really not worth $120 for two tickets.

Enjoyed the tours. It was great to be able to get on and off the buses at different stops. Had a mixture of buses that had live guides or pre recorded. Both worked fine. Except the last bus. The last two stop either couldn't get the sound to work. So either it wasn't working or wasn't turned on. But didn't detract from a great day out.We did the red route. The walking tour of chinatown was fantastic.
