I'm super to be in a Health Express Line, but come to find out, they've lumped me into Urgent Care. A 1 hour wait is now almost 2 hours.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCEOn January 1 we went to the Scripss clinic to the emergency department because my daughter Maria Jose Aranda Juarez felt bad with severe pain above her stomach, was nauseous and had vomited 10 times. It was attended by Dr. Richard James Pfeiffer who requested to do blood and urine tests. The doctor notifies us that the results they did to my daughter are positive for pregnancy and that her life was in danger because the baby was coming out of the womb and that they have to do an urgent ultrasound. Before such news we were astonished too much, since not only was she pregnant but her life was in dangerI just thought we had only gone to the clinic because of severe gastritis. And suddenly the doctor's diagnosis had changed so that my daughter's life was in danger. Before the news the doctor was told that it was a mistake since he could not be pregnant because he had never had relations. At the request of us they repeated the studies and the correct result came out and the doctor tells us that he has good news that it was a mistake and that he is not pregnant and that it was only gastritis and he sends us Omeprazole. How is it possible that a clinic with doctors supposedly trained to do their job can be wrong in this way giving a totally wrong diagnosis, and can cause another illness to both my daughter and us by the news they gave us.

I'll definitely be making this my goto spot any time I need anything.Nicest staff, very helpful, and were quick and didnt just have me waiting all night.

Everytime I need bloodwork the staff is helpful and polite. There is a man that works the desk during the week, I don’t know his name but he is an absolute gem. Always helpful and very kind. I asked my friend if she’s ever dealt with him she said yes I go there all the time . He is always very helpful. Also I noticed him step out from behind his desk to help an older gentleman who didn’t seem to understand or was having trouble hearing. That’s way better than I’ve ever seen at most offices. Great place for its purposes.

I normally have great things to say about Scripps but I think I'll avoid the lab here next time. It took an hour before I got seen for a blood draw. Arrived just before 715am and got called through the door at 815a. From 715-8am, only one person had been called in. At other places this is a 15-20 min visit tops. I get scheduling and such but if you have only two phlebotomists, occupying them both with long process visits just pisses off the 10+ people waiting an hour or more in the lobby. It wasn't until another phlebotomist and check in admin showed up at 8 that the process went quicker. Maybe make 730a the time to be there since you already open at 630am. Again, I'll stick to Encinitas next time even though Vista is closer.

The labs are the worst worst worst. Slow, disorganized, even with a 7am appointment.Update: A Scripps manager called me to ask for details about the experience. She was very kind and sounded genuinely concerned. However, the review stands due to the complete disorganization, especially concerning a timed-based medical need that was communicated several times before the appointment and at check-in.Update 2: I found out 2 weeks later that they made another error, and that they neglected to take all of the blood samples on the lab order. Next step is reporting this to a more official medical complaint board....

Scripps Cedar is awesome. All my experiences with various doctors has been excellent.....that includes urgent care, the labs and my great primary doctors. If complainers are complaining about "waiting to long", they are probably whining about the walk-in urgent care on the first floor or their regular doctor had to attend to an emergency situation...it happens!!

Feedback:

Was happy with primary Doctor (Majd) & previous experiences however had an appointment today & after waiting 5 minutes (no one was at the desk), I was told at check in that the Doctor was running late. I was 10 min late but had called 30 min prior to inform them & was told "that's just fine". At check in, the only option I was given was to wait 1.5 hours for a "squeeze in"... So why was I not called to be notified the Doctor was running late anyway, nor why my appointment was now cancelled?! Although I was told 10 minutes was "just fine" makes no sense. Clearly the staff is unorganized & unprofessional. Initially I was happy & comfortable but unfortunately now am looking to find another office with better customer service, organization & a Doctor that has better availability.

I think I may possibly have the very best Primary Physician I've ever had and anyone out there could even hope to have. I'm actually a bit reluctant to even spread the word for fear she'll be so booked up I'll never be able to get in to see her myself! Seriously, Doctor Amy Magnuson is the best doctor anyone could ever hope to find. She's so cheerful and warm and smart. She definitely has it all going on for her. I've been going to Scripps now for a little over a year after relocating from the Bay Area and finding all new doctors is a challenge indeed! I didn't have much success upon arriving here and not really knowing anyone so I could network etc so it took a bit of time but the time and effort I put into finding not just a good Primary but a GREAT one was my 3rd time was a charm time for me. I love her! In fact I really have had a fantastic experience with just about everyone I've met there. There's a lot of good people there that really care!!! And I'm so happy to know that I have a doctor now that I can count on to provide me with everything I could hope for! It's pretty intimidating to make a huge move at 63 years old and find all new doctors particularly when excellence is essential. Thank you Dr. Magnuson and my thanks to Scripps. I'm happy to be on board.
