It’s nice to have some almost authentic northeastern Chinese dishes here in Greater Lansing area. However, the food, though mostly good, lacks a hint of kick. For example, the potato short ribs stew,... more

Feedback:

The food here is good. Really good. If you’re looking for a cheap Chinese take-out place or buffet, look elsewhere. If you want a legit dine in restaurant, Chef Gong is great. MaPo Tofu was terrific, spicy, delicious. Bok Choi was perfectly cooked. Dumplings were on point. This is a good spot. It’s not fast food.

Very nice: quiet jazz playing in the background, nicely decorated, very good food. Pricing is appropriate to quality.I highly recommend the chrysanthemum tea...superb.

Authentic Chinese food! It has everything my boyfriend and I want. He wants mapo tofu, I want skewers. We ordered other dishes as well, such as northeast style chicken with mushroom and spicy noodles, they were all very good. The bill was high, but we also got quite a bit of leftovers. They have a lot of different tea sets so you can request to drink tea out of certain ones. The couple who owns the restaurant is friendly.

This is definitely the BEST Chinese food in town. Actually, among the many Chinese restaurants I've visited before in North America, this is one of my 3 best choices. The other two are in NY and Toronto. The Crispy Spicy Chicken was AMAZING. This is the best crispy spicy chicken I've ever had in my life, even including my food adventures in China. This restaurant is run by a family. The chef is amazing. His son also did great job decorating the restaurant. They are VERY friendly! The food is bit pricey, but considering the quantity and quality of the food, the price is totally reasonable.

Contrary to some of the other reviews we found the food to be amazing! This is the most authentic Asian restaurant I've ever been to. The service and atmosphere could not have been better and I actually though the prices were very reasonable considering the huge portions. Don't go here if you're looking for Americanized hunan chicken, this is the real thing!

The food is poor, and price is too too high. The servicer didn’t show respect to customer. A simple dinner spent me 120 USD !!!High tip was added without asking my permission. I will definitely never go again.

Feedback:

Very relaxed atmosphere... This was the first time I've had dry hot pot chicken (and yes, I ordered it Medium spicy). The chicken was fried nice, light, fragrant, and juicy inside. The peppers, cilantro, and peanuts all balanced the flavours of the chili and hot oil. The dish is quite flavourful. And because this is a TRUE Sichuan restaurant, I will be trying more dishes in the future.

Feedback:

We really enjoy coming here. I love the old mother pork belly. I always request it without the Szechuan peppercorns. That flavor is not something that appeals to me. The shrimp fried rice was good, really liked all the veg in it. Not the best fried rice but not the worst. Not overly soy sauced up. Nice clean flavor. we have the sesame balls with the red mung bean paste. Very good. I will definitely go back.

It’s nice to have some almost authentic northeastern Chinese dishes here in Greater Lansing area. However, the food, though mostly good, lacks a hint of kick. For example, the potato short ribs stew, tho the short rib was perfectly cooked, the potato wasn’t cooked long enough to get to that crummy texture, and the soup base tasted thin, whereas the real thing should be a LOT thicker. The chicken stew with mushrooms and noodles, the chicken were cut into big chunks, which is usually how it’s handled in northeastern Chinese dishes. And it was still cooked to be tender, so that was impressive. However, the noodles, and the chicken and mushrooms, they were like 3 sections of a choir, singing their own parts alone and not cooperating with each other to come out as a full dish. The chicken tasted just like chicken and the mushroom tasted just like mushroom, as if the dish was not cooked together but rather separately and then at the end just all thrown together. And obv the service is lacking, and since there’s ONLY one chef, if there’s other tables ahead of you, you are screwed. It’s nice to try out a few dishes, but sadly I won’t be back.
