Feedback:
While I find the initial welcome of the host and bread samples a nice touch... I feel the wait staff and bussers are lacking a bit of professional qualities (table awareness, a welcoming smile, too quick to remove plates while others are still eating, reaching across a round table to serve a dish rather walking around TO the person) I'm sure it won't affect them (Mama Ds) but our most recent visit is our family's last.

I really like the family atmosphere of this italian restaurant. Its not a fancy place but nicely suited for large or small parties. The food is nice range of italian food and moderately priced. On our visit not real crowded but only one server. He was on his bicycle keeping up. The owner came in to help and thing went much smoother. Food was good came out in a reasonable amount of time. The owner came by the table a chatted a bit which is a very nice touch. I liked it and would recommend it to others if you want a causal atmosphere that can get loud of times.

The vegan butternut squash ravioli was delicious as was their homemade bread. The eggplant parmigiana was mediocre which I told the waiter and he said he wanted to "make it right" but then never offered a dessert or anything to try to make up for it. The place is full of children walking around and playing which is fantastic for a family atmosphere but if you're looking for a place to go for a date or just adult dinner you might want to go somewhere else or maybe it's better when it's late and the kiddos are in bed.

We went on a Friday night so it was a bit of wait. However they did offer hot bread and they had some outdoor games set up. The atmosphere was lively. Dominion had a slight twist to traditional Italian food but still had the staples that you would expect. I don't recall seeing meatballs on the menu. My husband ordered some chicken and sausage Diablo pasta. It definitely lived up to the Diablo name. I ordered pasta with vegetables and basil and was it tasty. We didn't order drinks or dessert so I can't comment on those.

We order a pizza every Friday for our pizza night. Usually we get a really good pizza However our pizza that we got last Friday was very greasy and we were disappointed that there was no paper between the pizza and the pizza delivery box. We recycle and are very earth conscious and were disappointed that you are no longer using that paper between the pizza and the box which makes it un recyclable. 😞

Had high expectations for this place since I was told about the original one in Manhattan Beach being great! Happened to be in the area tonight with my family and seen it open. Nice looking place with a warm feeling, staff at first was decent. We ordered some water and our food. I asked the waiter for straws and throughout the night he never came back with them. ( It wasn't even busy, maybe 3 tables being occupied ) next comes out food.. The wife and my son seemed to like it, I was whatever about it. Anyways during our visit we never got asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Some more bread would have been good! Yup nothing until they seen we had finished our food and gave us the check. I'm not salty about the place I just wish they could have had better service. I was really looking forward to coming here once I found out this location was open.

This was my first visit here. The food was good and the staff was great. I definitely recommend getting the pink sauce rather than the marinara. I ordered the meat ravioli and the sauce that came with it was too chunky for my liking. Some of the tomato chunks were bigger than the actual ravioli. My daughter ordered her pasta with the pink sauce and it was incredible. There was a gentleman sitting at the table next to us and he was doing magic tricks. When he got up he came over to my daughters and did a few tricks for them. They really enjoyed that. Our waiter (Dan I believe?) told us that the gentleman doing the magic tricks was one of the owners. I thought that was a real nice touch.

I am 38 weeks pregnant, so my husband and I decided to try this place out for one last date night before the baby gets here. We had a wonderful time! The owner noticed how pregnant I am and talked to us for a bit before telling us he wanted to buy us an appetizer which was incredibly nice of him. The bruschetta was awesome. We saw him also talking to other tables and doing magic tricks for kids. Seems like a really nice guy. We really enjoyed our meals (Chicken Mama D’s and David’s Chicken). The bread they give you is delicious and you get cookies at the end! The atmosphere was great. At one point a waiter brought around samples of pasta with the pink sauce. We’ll definitely be coming back and I think I’ll get something with the pink sauce!

Wow!!! This place rolls out the red carpet for you (literally). The food is authentic with large portions; served with exceptional service. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. Their emphasis on having you enjoy your dinner company, instead if your phone was a nice touch. This is a must go in Redondo Beach if you want an amazing place to eat.

Definitely recommend getting the pink sauce on anything and everything! Also make sure you get fresh bread when it comes right out the oven as opposed to bread that's been sitting in the kitchen for a while. Prices overall are a bit high, but I'll admit that I generally feel this way when it comes to Italian pasta (the inner bargainer in me can't help but think I can make pasta at home at a fraction of the cost). I also think it's strange that the wine comes in a small beverage glass instead of a normal wine glass.
