I was called for jury duty in San Diego and needed a place for lunch. The restaurant is about 2 blocks from the Federal Court so it was perfect. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken with baby spinach and mashed potatoes. They assured me the food would be gluten free. As someone who has Celiac disease, I need to be very careful. The food tasted great and I had no reaction. I highly recommend Tender Greens for alone who wants a healthy and flavorful meal

When I'm on a layover in San Diego, I try to make my way to Tender Greens. They have delicious, healthy choices and their employees are super friendly. They will keep checking on you and refill your drinks and get you whatever you need. I really appreciate the excellent customer service! They also have a patio area that is perfect when the weather is nice.

currently watching one girl take money, touch the register screen, touch the trash, and then go back to pulling fresh cilantro. now she just moved over to the food line. guess how many times she changed her gloves? zero!glad I'm here to pick up a delivery and not actually eating the food. yuck

Tender Greens was a great experience. My favorite part was the variety of excellently cooked and very tasty vegetables. Tender Greens was relatively inexpensive, with a decent variety of meat and vegetarian options on their menu. Portion size was healthy, not excessive but not petite. The only thing I had to complain about on my plate was the meat. But then again it was a 13$ plate, not a 30$ plate. Set your expectations at that level and I am sure you will be wowed. I'd have paid twice as much for veggies this good anywhere else.

The food is tasty, albeit overpriced. I appreciate the vegan options in all categories of Tender Greens' menu. The online ordering pick up system could be improved upon. During the lunch rush, there is a sea of people in the pickup area (which is not visibly labeled as online or mobile pickup) and while I could see that my order was ready and waiting, I had to wait for one of the very busy staff behind the counter to get to me. This took unnecessary time.

I visit this marvelous place from time to time since I like the ambiance that is unique to this restaurant. The team is extraordianrillyremarkably loyal and skilfull. The service is impressively quick. Not to mention, the food you eat is outstanding. I ate there often and I was never disappointed. The expense is modest. I highly recommend this place to to everybody.

Good place to visit for healthy diet fanatics. It is convenient, right in the heart of downtown. So it gets crowded by 12. To beat it get there early. I had Chinese chicken salad. I liked it. Go check it out.

"The ticket didn't come out on the other side" for 4 of our orders. All separate, and another lady after we made it apparent to them that it was happening. Also, it was hard to get what we paid for until we showed them the receipts. It may have been an issue with their system, but at what point does an employee make the decision to get around their faulty "tickets" and start ensuring the orders go through? It was EMPTY when we walked in and ordered. To be fair, if you read the menu, it's what you're expecting and it's pretty good. But i have never experienced worse service or any ARGUEMENTS with a restaurant. Bummer for them and us.

Updated (3-star) Review, from Oct. 2018: This is still a frequent lunch spot of mine, but I'm revising my review and downgrading to 3 stars for two reasons. First, the quality of the food has declined since the chef changed several months ago. In particular, steak is now routinely over-cooked. Second, the "rewards" program that the company rolled out about a year ago is an absolute joke. That program gives you 1 point for each $1 you spend at the restaurant; obtaining the first level of rewards (above the one you start in) requires 800 points, meaning you have to spend over $800 (it rounds down on each purchase) just to reach "Friend Level," the primary benefit of which is a free meal on your birthday. Making matters worse, your points reset once per year, meaning you have to spend over $800 PER YEAR in order to reach, AND MAINTAIN, that level of perks. Broken down to the most basic point: you need to spend about $16 each week, for a year, in order to receive a free meal on your birthday. WOW. And for that, we give Tender Greens our personal data and dutifully log every dollar we spend there (so they can track our spending habits)? Yeah, no thanks. This sort of rewards program may be good for corporate office managers who rack up big spend ordering in lunch for a group at work, but for the rest of us it's pretty insulting. I'll be deleting my TenderGreens app, and recommend that others do the same. Visiting much less frequently these days, too.Original (5-star) Review, from 2017: I hit this place about once a week for lunch, and it never disappoints. Delicious, wholesome food, with friendly service. It is always busy at lunchtime on weekdays, but the line moves quickly and I've never been unable to find a seat. Great lunch spot!
