Went to Green Gardens to look for some plants for our garden. The plant tender had left his watering cans in the middle of the walkway while we were looking at the plants. My wife tripped over one of the cans fell to the ground and hurt both her knees and hip. The manager was apologetic and said he would talk to the plant tender. Very upsetting situation, my wife should not have to be sore for a week just because we wanted to buy some plants.

Feedback:

A smaller nursery with a medium selection. A kind of neighborhood nursery. Some stuff is reasonably priced while others aren't really. I like that they have a good selection of air plants + terrariums because a lot of nurseries typically have a microscopic selection of those. The staff is super knowledgeable on care and basically, know their sh*t. The facility is cute and fairly organized.

I had a great experience going to Green Gardens Nursey!!! If I had more gardening space I would be visiting here more. They were so helpful in finding the right plant for the spot I needed to fill (fumigation killed what had lived there for 10+ years). I DEFINITELY reccomend going here and forgetting the home depot plant section all together.

I love Green Gardens. Every time I visit I'm impressed by their amazing selection. It's so fun to explore and look for new things. I have kids, so of course we buy lots of plants for their butterfly gardens. The one they've set up o site is always bustling with butterflies. The kids love it, And it motivates them to build our garden up to that level. We're finally getting butterflies of our own, and it's really exciting. The staff is great too. Brian has helped us many times, and he's so patient and knowledgeable. Whenever I ask a question I can tell he really considers it carefully before answering. His instructions and guidance have led to a health and growing garden in my backyard!

This is by far my favorite nursery in San Diego and the surrounding area. I've been other places but they're just not as homey and helpful as Green Gardens. It's family owned, so I feel good about supporting it, prices are more than reasonable, and the staff knows what they're talking about when it comes to plants. They'll make sure you find the right plants for your garden/home/whatever. They have no agenda of pushing you to buy more, their only agenda is to make sure what you get is right for you. I could spend my whole day off and go on and on about how great they are but I'm gonna quick eat some breakfast and probably go to the nursery :)

Excellent customer service, great selection of well-cared-for plants, nice setting and easy parking. I don't do much gardening but will always pay a little more to come here for excellent products and knowledgeable service, rather than someplace like Home Depot where the plants are can be in rough condition and staff are scarce and often lacking any knowledge or desire to help.

Highly recommend you quit shopping at Home Depot or Trader Joes to get your plants and soil. I have done that before, due to them sitting in cold refrigerators or draft areas you bring them home and half of them die within a week or two or three...save your money. Also forget about buying soil anywhere else, especially home depot. comes too acidic, burnt my plants and is filled with fly larva that then matures and you got fruit flies or regular flies EVERYWHERE in the house....never again. This nursery...gosh if I only had a big garden, I'd buy majority of what they got. Last time I spent $150 for a few pots a beautiful flowering plant and 2 bags of soil but let me tell you, all grows well and blooms fantastic and the complements don't end.

Unfortunately, I am writing my first negative review. Green Gardens is a new neighbor and we were excited to purchase beautiful looking plants and products from them. However, beware, that once you make your not inexpensive purchases they take no responsibility for whatever happens from then on. Especially distressing was the apparent run around and fake appeasement. Within 2 mos., a 150.00 plant in an approx. 75.00 pot went almost bare. With photos we went back to discuss when Assis. Mgr. Said " oh that is just shock, give it 2 more mos. and if not better " We'll take care of you".We were assured that how we cared for the plant was correct. Two mos. later again with photos, we returned. This time we were, questioned, accused and doubted for what we must have done wrong even though all of our other plants were doing well but eventually told " give it 6 more weeks". Upon return he said we could pick out something else. A week later after my spouse had a chance to come with me to choose a replacement, the manager now questioned and tried to blame us in a disrespectful tone. He then said " we will meet you halfway" which apparently meant, that we would purchase a new plant from them at no cost to them. We sadly declined and are still " shocked" by the whole experience. We live only two blocks away and told them to come take a look to no avail. We also noted inconsistencies from the new young staff member from the east coast who told us what to buy, including what pot and caring instructions, from that of the asst. mgr. and then the mgr.( who questioned the size of the pot) .We are not stupid nor dishonest and do not like being treated as so. Apparently, the mgr. does not understand how much business he could have gained from our word of mouth.
