I ordered one of their quarantine cakes for my birthday. I was excited they offer a vegan and sugar free option (sweetened with stevia). When I picked up my cake, they accidentally gave me the wrong one. It was also tiny! Way smaller than I was expecting.The cake wasn’t sweet at all. The cake part was very mildly sweetened, but the frosting just tasted like salt and had a chalky consistency. Considering the prior errors, I wonder if the baker forgot to add sweetener to the frosting. I don’t like very sweet cakes, but this one was savory, and mostly flavorless. I emailed the owner/manager about this. She told me someone else had complained that the stevia-sweetened cake was too sweet, so they modified the recipe. I suggested a couple of times that if they change the recipe they should taste the product before selling it to customers, especially since they charge so much for their cakes, and she didn't respond. She offered me four cupcakes sweetened with sugar instead (4 cupcakes = $20, I paid $55 for my cake). I would not recommend using Half Baked for special events, because if they mess up they won't make it right! I have a pretty big sweet tooth, and this is the first time I've tossed almost an entire cake in the trash.

For your own good I highly advice you to read those details before considering ordering a cake from this place.A week and a half ago I ordered a costume made cake for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. I ordered the 6 slice piece ( quarantine, just me and him celebrating)Last year I ordered a different cake for one of my best friends. I paid $60, and it fed about 15 people at the club. It was DELICIOUS. I was planning to order from the same place again but my BF loves a specific cake (rainbow chip frosting) that they didn't have.I found Half baked on yelp and was impressed with their photos and reviews.I went to pick up the cake.. and couldn't believe my eyes. The best way to describe it is the "on sale" section of B-day cake at Ralphs with a $5 sticker on it. It was tiny, extremely basic looking. I brought it to the car and my girlfriend was shocked. "You paid $65 dollars for THIS"?!! "Is that a JOKE"??I can't tell you how upset I was. My car shut down so my girlfriend came to drive me to pick up the cake. A 30th birthday is a serious deal especially for my boyfriend who went through a lot in this past year. and it's also one year of us dating. I was looking forward to suprise my him with an amazing cake.I brought the cake back, all I was told is that I'll need to email the manager. Now imagine the stress I was in. My GF needs to leave, I am sitting in her car, calling other bakeries to see where I can get a costume made cake on the spot.No one was able to accommodate my need in such a short notice.Eventually I was so stressed out that I decided to settle and called "Half baked"I told them that I will only pay $20 for this cake.The baker explained me that this bakery consider pricey because of the high quality, non GMO ingredients so the most she can do is to refund me $35 back and add 4 cupcakes. Either way I was extremely unhappy with this cake but I was assuming that at least it MUST taste bomb (there's no way that for $65 dollars it LOOKS and TASTES terrible)So I took her offer, got the half refund and the cupcakes and was praying that it will at least be the most delicious cake ever.Guys, hold tight.Today was his birthday, We cut the cake and tasted it. It was THE MOST DISGUSTING CAKE I'VE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE. NON GMO "HIGH QUALITY" INGREDIENTS??!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???CHEAP CHEAP TASTING FROSTING the type that make your throat aches for how sweet it is, the one you avoiding at a 5 year old birthday parties because one bite of it and it chokes your throat from a taste of sugar poisoning and cheap chemicals.I cannot believe that a business like that even exists.We had one bite and the rest of this cake went to the trash!!I want All of my money back or I'll dispute it with my bank.Absolutely disrespectful place I still can't believe it what a terribly upsetting experience

The bakery that started it all with the cupcake craze, so it gets an extra star just for being the original.That being said, the frosting is too sugary. The cake is OK, nothing special.The banana pudding, however, is a must - LOVE this stuff! Awesome texture, it's a bit more like buttercream to me than pudding. I could lick a spoon covered in this stuff all day long.

We are so happy we decided to go with Half Baked for our wedding cake. Right from the start, Natalie was so knowledgeable and patient. After having tried so many flavors of cake, we went with carrot cake (my husband doesn't even like carrot cake, but that's how good it was that he wanted it!) They are a bit pricier than some of their competitors but honestly for the customer service and the incredible flavor it was totally worth it. Not to mention that their cakes are healthier than other bakeries. We even ended up adding a bunch of mini cupcakes and renting platters for the cupcake display. The cake was beautiful and everyone was complimenting how elegant it was. Thank you Natalie and Thank you Half Baked for making our special day even more special!

I walked in to the bakery and was greeted by a lovely young lady who promptly answered all my questions about ordering a wedding party cake and/or desert station. She gave me all the options and all the prices. Then, as if by miracle- she had a cancellation for another couple and had a cake tasting sampler for me to take home so my husband and I could try all the different flavors before placing my order... she didnt charge me for it and she let me choose the flavor combinations to try! My mistake, but I didn't ask her name before I left, but she had blonde hair in a bun and a great, welcoming smile. :)

On a lark, I rode over to Half Baked. The store is super clean but has a sparse selection specializing in what appears to be very customized cakes. They also offer cupcakes and cake pops and a few other items. It is pricey at $3.50 per cupcake. Regardless, I took home a Dulce de leche and a Chocolate & Vanilla. The Dulce de leche was the best cupcake I ever had in my life; very unique taste. I am saving the Chocolate & Vanilla.

I just had a most delicious gluten-free Oreo cupcake! Gluten-free! It did not taste gluten-free! If there are any other folks out there who have to avoid gluten because of a medical condition, you'll know why I'm pretty shocked. Gluten-free baked goods do not necessarily taste good. This cupcake was soft and sweet with the perfect cupcake texture. The shop is in a gorgeous building that is clean and beautifully decorated. Their selection of cupcakes, whether regular or gluten-free, range from chocolate to lavender. They make your cupcakes to order and they look so cute when they are done. They also have a nice selection of macaroons. Yes, gluten-free as well. We also got some of those. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a delectable, gooey sweetness in the center.Yes, highly recommend!

If I could give this -5 I would. I ordered a cake for a small wedding and received the wrong order. Not only was it the wrong order it tasted terrible. I always recommend this bakery to friends and fellow wedding goers as my mom is a wedding coordinator. I will make sure she takes them off her vendor list and will not be coming back. I can't go to a bakery who messes up on a cake so badly and ruins my special day. If you are a customer and wanting them for your event i would stay away.
