My wife and I came in today with an almost $300 shopping list. I poked my head in first to double check the occupancy to make sure we could enter and when I realized only one more could enter, I waited outside with my wife until it was okay for us to go in. When other customers exited the building we walked in with ID’s in hand like we always do. (A bit of backstory I moved here from out of state and have been unable to get a new updated Oregon ID due to Covid-19. And the law states that any out of state ID that expires AFTER March 8th 2020 is considered valid even after expiration until October.) The SAME EXACT employee that told us this information back in April refused me service today even though we have dealt with him in the past on almost every visit. He said his name was Robert. I questioned it and and kindly reminded him of the current law on the matter and he told me That information was false. He was rude in his response and told us we needed to leave even though my wife has a Valid Oregon ID. We left and went to Kind Leaf around the corner and we’re greeted with respect and kindness. They accepted my ID and I even asked them about the current law about the matter and they confirmed what I already knew. My ID IS INFACT VALID. I left with a haul of higher quality than anything High Desert has to offer, added a few hundred dollars to Kind Leafs drawer and even left a tip. So a word to the wise, if you want cheap, poorly cut cannabis or concentrate that’s left open and leaking with very poor customer service then go to High Desert. If you want great customer service with a nice atmosphere and much nicer product and over triple the selection, then go to Kind Leaf. •UPDATE• The owner of High Desert also attempted to lie and say that they could not accept my ID even though I have gotten confirmation from several other store owners that they can accept it. At this point I feel discriminated against as this has never been an issue in my dozens of trips to this establishment. But now with all of the new tension in the nation I’m apparently a problem. To whoever I may have offended in whatever way I apparently did so, grow up and stop taking your feelings out on customers. Especially when we are such frequent patrons and bulk buyers. This store will NEVER see our money, nor the money of the hundreds(Soon thousands) of other people who now know about this. Good job, you did this to yourself. Also, why would my wife stay and spend our money in your store after your employee was so rude to me? Your store is a complete joke. The owner of High Desert is unable to provide any information supporting their false claim that they can’t accept my ID. However the owners of Kind Leaf and Pendleton Cannabis both informed me that they must accept expired IDs until October unless it is extended to a further date. Not only are the owner and the employees rude and unable to give proper information on the product they sell, but they are complete LIARS.
