Ignored us for 20 minutes. Left without a comment from any of the 6 or so staff members on duty.UPDATE: Perhaps events like this happen for a reason. Later that day we went to the Concord, CA store and had an excellent experience with a sales associate named Thomas. He was handling several customers at the same time, but it never felt like he was gone for more than a moment (like when they head to the back of the store to bring out shoes).I like Road Runner Sports' model and I don't wish to besmirch the brand or even the Berkeley store.It was a less than stellar performance by the staff there that particular Sunday, and probably an anomaly, based on my experience later that day in Concord.

Very helpful staff, love the machine that analyzes your running and camera recording the way your feet land during a quick run session. Like being able to try out multiple shoes on the treadmill to get a real feel for the insoles and shoe combination. My 2nd pair of custom fitted insoles and shoes. When you come here prepare to spend some time really breaking down the kind of shoe you need and various other factors to help enhance your personal running experience. Either for marathons, dirt trail or city street running, you will get what you want as long as you know what you want out of your shoes! I recommend this place for a true running consultation 😁👍🏽

I visited RoadRunner to get new shoes after my old, worn-out shoes gave me plantar fasciitis (I also have flat feet). Robby, the sales associate I saw, got me fitted quickly and brought out a superb set of shoes to try. Robby was very knowledgeable about what gear is best for runners with my issues and really took time to make sure that I got what was best for my running health. I am usually quite hesitant before signing up for paid memberships to stores, but I felt very comfortable doing so for this store. Thanks Robby and RoadRunner Sports for the great customer service!

- Part 2 -After I posted this review (Part 1 below) the store manager went ABOVE AND BEYOND to solve the issue. I have never experienced better and more personal customer service. And I mean never! Furthermore, I am extremely happy with all their products that I got (Running shoe, insoles, socks). The soles have worked wonders for my running and their socks are now my favorite ones.I really believe that the previous bad experience described below was really just a really unfortunate chain of events that came down to bad luck.They definitely won me as a customer with their attentiveness and willingness to ensure a great customer experience. Highly recommend!- Part 1 -Worst customer service experience ever. Went to the shop, spent 300$ and signed up for the "VIP" membership. First off, during my time at the shop, the staff would constantly dissapear to the back of the shop for a ridiculous length of time and would so be unreachable in order to help out. Also, they generally seemed to be spaced out. Second, I place an order for a pair of shoes to be delivered to my house, because they did not have it in the shop. More than a week goes by, so I call them to find out that they had delivered it to the wrong address, because the staff member at the shop had taken it down wrong on his tablet. We correct the address over the phone, and they tell me they submitted a request for it to be retrieved and brought to me, promising that if that does not work they will ship me another pair. Another 6 days go by and I have not received anything so I call again. They tell me that last week it seems they forgot to actually put the request throguh to the delivery company. They will do this now, but it will take about 2 weeks, and it may actually not work in which case turns out they cannot ship me another pair, because they're out of stock and are not planning to bring any more!!!! In any case, they double check the address again just to "make sure" and it turns out that last time (over the phone) they had taken down the addrees wrong AGAIN! First time the house number, second time the street number. Finally they ask to check my email address to contact me when they have news, and it turns out they also had that one down with a typo. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. At this point honestly I don't give a s*** how they would get the shoes, but if they want to ever have me as a customer again I'd expect them to go to Brooks (the brand of the shoe) themselves, buy me a pair and frickin deliver it. Also the staff at the shop needs some serious training in basic customer service it seems, and not just using the fancy foot measuring equipment.

They've got the gear you need.The staff - They're knowledgeable and willing to spend time discussing your fitness goals and offer assistance to help you attain those goals.Good sized store with a decent selection gear for both men and women. Keep in mind that you'll find more on their website. Additionally, you'll find that their mostly stocked with their own brand named gear with regard to apparel so if you're looking for specific brands outside of shoes, you may be disappointedI'd bump them up a star if their in-store selection of gear better reflected what they offer online. This may be unfair as there are space constraints with any brick-and-mortar joint but would like to see a wider selection as I can't try on items that are only available online.
