Enjoyed working with my fellow workers and the assistant managers at Local Roots; however, for a company employing union busting tactics; especially when ignoring the safety of customers to accomplish it, I must give my service to another quality; and medically endorsed, location. I will miss the ability to service the community with my senior Industry experience & education, and I recommend Fweedom as a far better location; especially for medical authorization holders, or those seeking educated medical advice. Their 30% discount, and 40% concentrate Saturdays are far superior. I gave a star for Cascadia Gardens , Green Rush, DNA, and Landrace; which are all quality growers that Local Roots offers. Budtenders do a good recreational job and can't help who the management and Owner are; even when he lives above the shop. Beware of items "pushed" on customers; as that's what we're literally told to do, and not budtenders fault; and check expiration dates on concentrates/edibles, and harvest dates on flower. Yes; sales change often, and the budtenders are usually the last to know. When Green Rush sale stopped, we were only told that day. Shared tips, so please remember that doesn't go to management and samples are a joke industry wide. Budtenders; not only here, can't try more than a 3rd of the strains they sell, and most find out after the fact; or guess. At mostly below $15hr, even 48% employee discounts can make trying everything; as in medical, realistic. Price's set by maximizing profits; and seeing how much customers are "willing to pay." Also buyer haggling; but most recreational mark-ups are shocking state wide. Budtenders literally do not know when anything new or when a new shipment will actually be available; we only tried our best to guess. We're not even sure the GM or Buyers know 100%. Lastly; workers can't help the triple I.D. check's; if you're annoyed at it, the GM is usually there till 4pm ish, and let him know... budtenders find it as annoying as customers.
