Overall Feedback:

I take care of a disabled veteran with multiple sclerosis. He lives in Worcester... so we utilize the Worcester VA clinic for his primary care physician and for emergencies the walk in clinic. He has to take a train..subway...a bus... And a lot and I mean a lot of walking just to go see his neurologist in Boston that will assist in his treatment of multiple sclerosis . It's unbelievable how they can force someone who can barely use their legs to do all that. And now out of nowhere they're saying he has to go to Northampton because "it is closer. When technically Boston is closer by about 2 miles the difference is… He can take a train, subway and a bus to Boston.... North Hampton would not be easy to get you at all . How can they suddenly force someone to switch clinics when he's been seeing the same neurologist for his multiple sclerosis for years!! Shouldn't it be a case-by-case basis I feel like they just don't care it's all about the money $$. And I say this because yesterday morning we went to the Worcester VA clinic to utilize their walk-in services due to: the night before my patients legs completely collapsed and he fell. Now I pointed out to the doctor the dark red swollen mark on his right buttocks. And I also explained that he has to do 3 interferon injections a week for his multiple sclerosis treatment and that's one of the injection sites the doctor kept telling us we should call the neurologist in Boston....he even said that it's a bacterial infection from injecting the interferon. If there was any bacteria in that spot and then he did the injection and push the bacteria inside and cause a bacterial infection then he told us one more time that we should contact the neurologist in Boston now a bacterial infection sounds like something that should be dealt with his primary care physician and he should have gave my patient antibiotics to cure the bacterial infection. The doctor did nothing but tell us to contact the neurologist in Boston now my patient cannot use his legs at all and the bacterial infection has spread so severely that it's causing him not to be able to walk. I am totally disgusted in the way they treat veterans at this clinic!! And now they are saying THEY ARE NO LONGER HELPING WALK-INS!!!! There's no signs of anywhere in the clinic saying no more walkins and I never got that memo the communication is all also very awful !!
