BEWARE! THE COVID CLINIC IS ON THE GROUND FLOOR IN THE HANDICAP SPOT! If you are immune compromised and/or handicapped, DO NOT GO THROUGH HANDICAP AREA! It was hard as hell to get my grandmother (who is heavily handicapped and immune compromised) into the hospital part. We couldnt park in the handicap spot, so we had to walk further (I can't leave her alone because she may get dizzy or confused and fall) to get to the doctor.
Feedback:
Paid my copays at the time of multiple visits, as all the signs say "payment due at time of services". They had all my insurance info and should have known what my copay was but months later, I received a collection notice for not paying my copays which is odd because I called them directly and they didnt have my current address but the collection agency had my current one. I never changed it with them because as far as i knew, all my copays were paid and my insurance changed so i had to go elsewhere. I've called their billing department 3 times to update my address , get info on how to pay this without it being on my credit score and figure out what happened. No info was provided to me about the collection agency they dediced to use and give my info to without my consent. I was very sick at the end of last year/beginning of this year and for every appointment, I received a phone call and portal update but for some odd reason they dont use either of these platforms for billing. Before sending my account to collections, they didnt call me at all. I just received a call from them and after updating my address multiple times, they still had the wrong address. Of course the only way to have this handled is by mailing something, get your stuff together and stop making it difficult for patients to pay their Bill's. You provide medical services, dont be predatory.

Do not trust front desk when they schedule your appointment and says your insurance will cover it. Then later it turns out a $500 bill for preventative care appointment! And no one here will help you to find out what happened. Seems the bigger the practice get, the less they care about individual patient. Very sad and disappointed.Update: Delayed input. After servals emails, somehow they fixed it. It took a lot of energy, but at least they did something eventually.
Feedback:
I took my 2 year old here yesterday with a very common nursemaids elbow that needed to be reset. He has needed this before so I am familiar with the procedure and knew it should be fast and easy. The doctor came in and pinched his elbow and said he would be fine. I knew it was not better. 2 more doctors and nurses came in over the course of a couple hours and told me he was fine and to go home. It was obvious to me he was not fine but we went home anyway. The next day I took him all the way to palo alto to go to pediatric urgent care and the doctor said it had not been properly reset. This doctor was able to reset his elbow in a matter of seconds and even showed me how to do it if it happens again. I would never go to urgent care in san carlos again. I sat there for 3 hours for absolutely no reason and my son had to suffer in pain for the rest of the night anyway. If you have kids, just do the extra drive down to palo alto.
Feedback:
So I schedule a visit with a primary care physician at PAMF San Carlos, pay my $20 copay, and later on learn that I owe $215 because my UHC insurance considers her "out of network"? That's despite the PAMF's main site and the doctor's profile page both explicitly stating that they accept my health plan and I never had trouble with any other provider at PAMF before? This system is so sick, it's not even clear whose at fault here, the only thing that is very clear is that I owe $215. Of course. Thanks for nothing, PAMF and UHC.
