We've been dealing with the service Coordinator - Eve Williams. She has been SUCH a bright light ever since entering our lives last Friday to go over the care for my Grandmother - Beverly. Her followup and staying on top of things is out of this world and I truly feel like I'd be in " a little white padded room" if not for her reaching out and setting up everything for us. Her level of care not only for your elderly patients, but for their families is astounding. She has remained by our side every step of the way. I believe you should give credit where credit is due and what a pleasure it has been working with Eve. Thank you Homewatch!
Feedback:
I am giving this company one star because of management. Ms Knight’s unwillingness to work with me regarding my mother’s care has been difficult and unprofessional. Her condescending attitude has been unwarranted. I am dealing with a mother who has dementia. I live 1800 miles away. I would expect a company to work with the family member who has POA and pays them for their services. There have been issues with several caregivers unprofessionalism. Those were remedied because my mom reported it. I think there are better options out there with more caring, qualified and professional managers and staff.
Feedback:
Homewatch was great at first. Their inability to meet my scheduling needs must be a reflection of how they treat their employees. Simple tasks of meal prep & medication was only done by one caregiver, Ellen. Others simply sat with their face in their cell phones. Also, email communication is meant for instant communication. Homewatch never seemed to understand that I can’t be on my cell phone while I’m working. I no longer recommend this company at all.
Feedback:
I feel like I'm in a decent position to be reviewing Homewatch Caregivers, as our family has been using their services for over three years now. As our mother aged and dealt with her medical conditions (most importantly Parkinson's), she increasingly needed more assistance with performing daily activities such as going to the market, going to medical appointments, etc. She enjoyed still being able to live alone, so having a caregiver come in a few times a week made this possible (since none of us kids live in Nevada). During one visit from the caregiver, my mother didn't answer the door. The caregiver went to the office of the apartment complex and notified the manager, who came to my mother's apartment and opened it. To their shock, she was on the floor and completely incoherent. She had had a stroke and had a severe UTI (look it up if you aren't familiar with what these can do to seniors). She was unable to press her medical alert button hanging around her neck, she was so incoherent. It's quite possible that the caregiver's visit saved her life. Fast forward to now, where our mom is comfortably living full time in a nursing facility in the Las Vegas area. It took several months for her to achieve some sort of stability from the aforementioned incident. But once she did, we again began using the services of Homewatch. Five days a week, a caregiver comes in and helps her eat, helps her organize her closet and drawers (since she's unable to do this anymore), takes her outside in her wheelchair for a stroll around the block, takes her to medical appointments, and generally is a friendly face to see when family isn't there. Essentially, the caregiver provides a level of personalized service that nursing facilities are not equipped to handle. It was a great relief then, and it is especially now, to know that someone is stopping in to see her that has the family's best interests in mind.We have had probably a dozen different caregivers from Homewatch over time. Generally speaking, they've all been very good at what they do and have had good dispositions. As one might expect, there is a better fit with some than others. This is completely to be expected and it's not a negative thing. We have made it a point to meet all our caregivers, and to make sure our mother is happy with them. We've been in a good rhythm for a long time now. Lastly, we have established good communications between Homewatch and the family. This is important to make sure there are no surprises. If one establishes what's expected up front, I've found that surprises are dramatically reduced.
Feedback:
This agency should be shut down. The agency is rude when you call and charge for missing visits even when someone is home bound. If we could give a negative rating we would. My sister was a professor of nursing with a phd and was treated poorly. When a good aide was sent the agency didn't send them back. There were a few good ones but they didn't last long. The agency didn't send them back. DON'T USE THIS AGENCY.
Feedback:
My sister used this service after having a stroke. She was a self pay client. She had no-shows who didn't bother to call. She had workers who actually could not understand what she wanted done. (Intelligence problems, not language)The few times that she did have someone she liked and told them she liked the person, they wouldn't send that person back again. They knew she had 3 small dogs but sent people who did not like dogs. What a complete waste of money for her!If I could give a negative rating, I would. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS OR THEIR CLIENT"S WANTS OR NEEDS!
Feedback:
If I could could give them less than a negative negative I would I have moved here to help take care of my mother who is a Vietnam Nurse Veteran. I have had one make threats, take stuff out of the house because they had my mom fooled for being poor, however when I found out and told her she was taken the lady drove a BMW 535I. Nobody shows up and they don’t call you so loved one has to come home and miss work. I wouldn’t recommend to send a dead rat to this place to take care of. Oh yea last but not least people I had a lady leave a gas stove on for 12 hrs until I came home to turn it off!😡😡😡😤😤😡😡
Feedback:
If it was possible to give them a negative rating I would. Do not leave the care of anyone you love to these people. They are not dependable and act as if they are doing a job from the kindness of their hearts instead of being paid to be on time dependable and courteous. The AIDS are barely competent and will spend most of the time they should be helping sitting around being nosey or watching tv. If you have ANY other choice I urge you to make a different one. This company does not care about you or your loved one and will bombard you daily with changes and excuses then get angry and quit with no notice when you are fed up after a year of less than professional behavior. And the review on here from Cynthia white is a lie she runs the place and does not return phone calls. Also beware of ruth she is rude and disrespectful
