This place should be closed as a public service. The doctors take 6 months to refer you or wrote youa prescription, are arrogant and demeaning and do not consider your health as priority. They just want you to go through a million tests so they can make money offof you and then never discuss the test results with you. In my entire life, I have not felt as abused and as humiliated as I have with this health system. Saveyour money and time and go somewhere else. God forbid you are on 35 yr old woman trying to get preganant, they will make sure you cross 40 years before they see you next, taht how inefficient they are

What’s the point of scheduling a doctors appt for a problem when every time you call they tell you they are booked out for 30-60 days? I’m better off just waiting until my problems are worth sitting 4 hours in the ER, or going immediately in a bus. At least then I know I will actually be seen by a doctor who doesn’t follow the fail first medical ideology. Been trying to get appts here for over 7 years now when needed and get the same story every time I call.

The worst place. It took 20 min just to wait for the doctor to see me and when I'm finally seen it only takes 5 min, she then tells me to wait that she would be back and I'm waiting for 30 min. Finally the assistant asks me if I've been seen. I said I was waiting for the doctor to come back. Another 10 min passes by and tells me you are good to go. Very upset.

I am very picky when It comes to proper health care. North County Health Services met my expectations and even surpassed them. I’ve been going here for years and recently, the way they treat patients has gotten even better then before! I was going through a lot of hardship and they provided me with every resource you can think of! They made sure my insurance was back up and running, got me personal help, and helped me get my health back on track. It wasn’t all about profit for them. They genuinely want to care for people. Even when I am very very broke! I wish all clinics and hospitals can learn from them! We would then have a better healthcare system in America.

Utterly terrible patient/customer service and follow-through. The worst I've experienced in over 40 years of dealing with healthcare agencies/professionals. I've also worked in health care for several decades and have heard many horror stories--NCHS may not be the worst of the worst, but they are clearly in the running. For a more detailed description of my experience, keep reading...Early December:* Called NCHS to ask my Dr. to reorder a prescription.* Waited a week w/o response and called again, making same request* Again, no response, so called and urged a response* Dr. refused to refill unless I made an appointment, which I did* After additional calls, was informed that Dr. refused to fill prescription until after she saw me--appointment was 6-weeks out, so I was without prescription for the durationMid-January:* Apt was for 10:45. I was running 5-10minutes late and called at about 10:30 and was told that my appointment was for 10:30 and that I would be too late and would have to reschedule. I contested the time of appointment and was informed, at some point, that while my appointment was for 10:45 with the doctor, I was supposed to be there at 10:30, 15 minutes ahead of time so my new info/insurance, etc., could be processed. I stated that I had not been told to be there 15mins early. I was told I needed to reschedule in any event, which I did at that time, another 6-weeks out. So now I would be without my meds for 3 monthsMarch:* I showed up 15min early and then waited 1.5hrs beyond my actual appointment time to see doctor* Doctor ordered two blood tests (lipids and kidney function) and was to refill 2 of my prescriptions* Upon checking out, we (a nurse and myself) reviewed what was to happen: New appointment to draw blood and another appointment, on another day, to check blood pressure--why they couldn't happen on same day was a puzzle to me; and prescription refill. In going over Dr's orders, one prescription was missing along with the kidney function blood test. Nurse assured me she would check on those things and call me the next day. I never received that call* I called a couple of days later, asking about the meds (pharmacy hadn't received the order), the missing med on Dr's orders, and the missing blood test for kidney function. I was told that they would follow-up on these. Again, didn't hear back and had to call again* Day for blood test arrived. When I was in the draw-room, nurse indicated that this was a fasting draw. She also informed me that it was a lipid test. I told her I had eaten and that no one had mentioned that I needed to avoid eating prior to test. She checked with someone to confirm and came back saying that I needed to set a new appointment. We rescheduled the next day for the same time, 9:30.* Day of blood draw apt. I received a call, a message on my phone from A..... asking to give her a call back. I called back within 10 minutes of her call, thinking this was about my appointment that day. No "A....." could be found nor record of her call or why she called. I didn't want to go in and find that my appointment had been canceled so I asked to confirm my apt and was told I was scheduled for 10, not 9:30. * Regarding my prescriptions, I had to call a total of 4 times to finally get them ordered. Over 3 months without my meds. How can anyone justify this and consider that this even remotely resembles adequate health care and patient support?Least anyone get the wrong idea, I really like and respect my primary care physician at NCHS--she's a gem and I will miss her.

Danger, Peligro, Beware, Discrimination,This is a warning for medicinal marijuana patients. NCHS has outdated policies on how they treat medicinal marijuana patients. They will classify you as a street drug user, even if you have a doctors recommendation. Doctors will not prescribe, even take away certain medications that can help you. Because of these outdated policies people are suffering. I personally talked to the human resources dept. about this. I was told if I did not agree with there policies to go seek help elsewhere. Due to my financial situation I am unable to do so. In conclusion. BEWARE of disclosing your medicinal marijuana usage when seeking help. You will be discriminated against, denied certain medications and treated as a street drug user.Hopefully in the near future NCHS will update these policies on how medicinal marijuana patients are treated.

They have really helped me in various self care endeavors and in developing a strategy for living a healthier life. The staff are kind, professional and compassionate in equal measures. They continuously encourage me to take an active role in my healthcare which has led to a greater trust in my doctors and a healthier way of living. They also assist in any way they can to provide referrals, care coordination with specialists and even registration for medical insurance. They are a quality asset that provides great healthcare for an underserved part of our community.

I have been there only twice and not going back. First time 3 weeks after an emergency back surgery , I had to see my new primary doctor for referral , I had appointment , doctor could see me 2 hours after my appointment time , even though I keep telling all the nurses I can't sit because of my back pain , no one did any thing . Last month I called to make an appointment , they give me for 2 months later even though I explained I had surgery a month ago , there was no appointment in 2 months , you could try your self and see how they really don't want work with anyone . I did made appointment for 2 months later because I had to . Yesterday my pain was so bad I did go to the center and explained why I couldn't wait one more month to see the doctor . after 30 minutes wait , they told me I could go back today , they have one appointment at 9:45 to see the doctor . I accept that but told the lady behind the counter last time doctor saw me 2 hours past my time and I have to be at work at 10 so because of my situation, if she could send me earlier , she keep repeating the same thing over and over like a robot . she told me come at 8 maybe doctor could see me but no grantee . I was there at 8 am today , time passes nothing happened , I talked to 2-3 nurses , explained what is my situation , I just need to see the doctor to get a referral not physical exam . No one did anything , they are cold hearted , robotic employees who don't care go out of their way to help a patient with pain . How at the first place I got the surgery , I had pain , call them to make appointment , the appointment they gave me was so far that I had to go to emergency and they did the surgery , but for small things tike referral do I have to go to emergency??? , or according to them wait two months to see my primary doctor to give me a referral then I be able to make appointment with specialist perhaps for 2 months after that . Because of not going through this pain full process the emergency room in hospitals are full of patients , who could been visited some where else . It is embarrassing for everyone works there and Mrs Kennedy to have terrible rating when it comes to treating people with pain , shame on you......
