Don't go if you have great insurance or unless you have no other alternative! I was recently at Mercy for an incident that I thought was a kidney infection at 6:30am. They checked me in and I gave a urine sample about a 1/2 hour later. I was all by myself mind you. They checked my insurance and since I hadn't met my deductible they proceeded to charge the full amount of that deductible and an approximate amount even though it was uncertain of my diagnosis. I gave a blood sample at 7:30 and waited for doctors to see me. I waited until 8:30 where I saw the PA (physician's assistant), who determined assumed I had a Lat strain. I then had to wait to check out at 9:30. What was the final bill for waiting for three hours, no medicine, and no doctor visit. $3,600. They charged $2,700 to sit in the emergency room for three hours. I talked to an employee and they jacked up the price because I had insurance and hadn't met my deductible. That is standard practice. They coded me a "high urgency" yet that makes little sense since I wasn't seen for two hours? I have called to talk about overbilling and they said I needed to follow protocol that being write a letter even though I had called three different times about the incident. I have had great service at Hilltop Medical and never been billed for sitting in the lobby!!!! I gave it one star because the nurse and phlebotomist were friendly and helpful. The lower response from the owner suggests he is concerned about this, but I have left messages and they haven't been returned numerous times. Please contact me about my situation. You have my number on file

I recently was a patient at Mercy Redding, and everyone to a person that I was treated by, from the Doctors , Nurses to Physical therapy were terrific. Kind, competent, and really cared about me and my health. Also the other departments I interacted with were more than helpful. I give Mercy my highest recommendation. The prayer every morning encouraged me.

This was by far the worst ER Experience ever. No privacy. Nurses taking vitals in the waiting room openly discussing patient issues for everyone to hear. Drs and nurses have no respect for privacy and no compassion. All of them are there for their paycheck and don’t care about helping anyone. All they care about is their different colored chairs.

We have provided transportation services for Mercy for the last 15 years, however the last 6 months they have not been paying their bills!! They are continuing to call us for services especially nights and weekends to clear Emergency room and we have to tell them no because we have not been getting paid! Someone needs to get things straightened out up there! Please be aware if you plan on doing any services for the hospital

They had my son and a room full of the same people waiting in the emergency waiting room for a hour and half. My son was in alot of pain. I asked the front office lady how long in a very nice way and she became defensive at me. When you watch your baby in pain and ask how long and you get additude that is not ok in anyway. Very disappointed in staff and and quick help

I went in after a fall and knew my shoulder was dislocated/ out of socket. Dr. Madsen ordered x-rays and also came in after the xrays and told me that my shoulder was out of socket. But then he said “we’re not going to put it back in socket and we’re not going to give you anything for the pain”. Spent 8 hours in the ER for no help at all! He sent me home with a dislocated shoulder! Why are there doctors if they’re not willing to help or do anything?

Will never have another baby at a dignity health facility. Firstly, when my wife went into labor, they told her to go home because they were short-staffed and just follow up with her OB during her next appointment. Ironically, we were alone on the floor that night. They don't really tell you much or like to explain things. Most nurses are excellent, but there's also too many that are pushy, don't really care, or rude. There's no snacks for the PT's besides jello. One nurse watched as I struggled to pick up a food tray for my wife after refusing to help me, then told me it was my responsibility to clean up the mess that she watched me spill. Another nurse at the station turned away my grandparents, telling them we weren't there. They had to drive all the way back to Palo Cedro to call me, telling me they were turned away. A friend came to visit and they tried turning him away, too. I came to hear many stories the next few days about how horrible they are, from my grandparents down to friends and family with newborn babies. They have a monopoly in the field of birthing in the region, and they know it. They have no incentive to change.

I went in to the emergency room, as I had been throwing up for 24 hours which lead to jaundice. In total before leaving I waited 5 hours without ever seeing a Doctor. The only staff I saw were a very rude CNA and a nurse, who ordered bloodwork. After hours of waiting and not seeing a Doctor I decided to leave. The bill came in the mail and ended up being over $4000 before insurance paid. I called to see if there was any way to lower my portion, as it is completely unaffordable even after insurance and Mercy being a preferred provider. All they offered me was a payment plan. This hospital is supposed to be nonprofit but I see now that is untrue. I will die before I return to Mercy Medical Center.

My recovery Nurse Sue was the meanest, rude, cruel, disrespectful, nurse I’ve ever had in my life. I had a Partial hysterectomy done and when I woke up it was very painful. She had laughed at me and told me,”I was crying like a baby.” She lifted my blankets up to check my catheter in front of everyone in the recovery room without closing the curtains. I was in so much pain. She had said some other things that were so humiliating. That woman shouldn’t be around patients. She was just awful. Other then that one person, my stay at this hospital was wonderful. I had great nurses. The food wasn’t very edible.

My husband and I were in ER at Mercy on a Friday night. Packed waiting room. We have been in many ERs thru the years, and Mercy is probably the best we have experienced. Even under the stress of so many waiting patients, everyone from the security guards who welcomed us, the intake persons, those who treated him, and finally the lady person who ck'd us out .. all were amazingly kind, efficient and friendly. We are new to the area so it was especially helpful to us.
