Very nice office, built in the worst area of the city! Parking is a huge concern. You have to park one or two blocks away and walk back to the location. The second issue is them being short-staffed al... more

As an Uber driver, I have been loyal to provide only Uber rideshare services and not Lyft as many drivers use both platforms. I am now considering expanding my portfolio to drive for Lyft and cancel Uber all together based on my experiences here. They encourage you to schedule your inspection appointment online with the understanding that by arriving on time will allow you to find parking and be seen at the time you were scheduled for. This was just the opposite here. You pull into the parking lot and every space is marked no parking for Uber. They even have security meet you at your car if you try to park there to go inside to ask where to park. After driving around for several minutes you decide to park down the street and walk several blocks and go inside. You are greeted upstairs with a line out the door. And more than 70 people sitting while waiting for an inspection. The line took quite awhile to get checked in and your 2pm appointment and the peraon checking people in didnt care that you had an appointment online. They said it was going to be an hour to an hour and a half before you will be helped. I asked why make an appointment online if your appointment time did not mean anything. He was rude and stated you dont have to be there and that you can come back another time and go through the process again. He dismissed and frustration and didnt seem to care that you drove through traffic to be there and drove around trying to find parking. I shared the fact that as a driver it is important for us to orovide perfect customer service to our riders and the culture here was far from reasonable or professional.I spoke to a manager after that. A manager was less enthusiastic to help or show empathy. He just provided some lip service and then began to ignore you. I let him know that the processes and systems were broken and that they were understaffed. He really didnt care and provided no help or answers of why it says on the Uber app that you will be in and out in 20 minutes or less. After an hour an employee introduced herself. She asked how she could help and what brought me in today. She had very little experience and her job was to fill out the form for the inspection. An hour to wait for someone to fill out a form that would have taken me a minute to do on my own. Downstairs I went to the garage. They have one person doing all of the inspections. This is backwards. They have an employee checking people in when it should be able to take a number or if you booked online then just click a button on your arrival. The DMV is ran more efficient. A person to fill out the form for you? Really waste of time! More personnel should be as inspectors rather than greeters. A waste of time, broken systems, rude employees and low standards in a culture of demands for high client reviews from drivers while providing poor service to its partners.
Feedback:
Just pulled in at 5 PM to get inspected after driving all the way from Bellingham and they tell me that they aren’t inspecting any more vehicles today. The website states they take cars up to 30 minutes prior to closing at 6. Just know, this isn’t true if you make the commute. 4 hours of driving, 2 in prime Seattle traffic for no reason 🙄 Just pay for an inspection elsewhere.
Feedback:
Accidentally left my phone in an Uber and the driver refused to even answer the call. No updates or notice of where my phone was until over two weeks after the incident when my friend messaged Uber (she ordered the ride where the phone was lost) and they finally said that the phone was dropped off at the greenlight hub. Called the number for the place and the only option that was applicable to my situation was rider support. Then the automated voice states that it is only driver support at the moment??? And then ended the call. I went on the app to message Uber but there is no way for me to message them about it. It’s a complicated process and they have no structure to provide assistance for these situations (which happen more often than you realize)
Feedback:
Worse customer service! I visited this place to update my phone number. I told the receptionist that I don't have access to this number so I can't get the notification msg from Uber if it's my turn be seen with an Uber respresntive and the lady said she is going to put a note for it. I waited for more than 2 hrs and no one called my name. I waited on the line again and asked the receptionist if they are going to call me and she said that they have sent me a text msg already or called my name! while I told her that Do do not have access to that number. I had to wait for another 1 hour...so 3 hrs of waiting because someone is not doing the job properly.

Driver Lost - Couldn't Find Local Downtown Well Known RestaurantWhile out of town in Seattle, we ate at a well known local restaurant downtown. We tried Uber for the first time. They matched us with a driver without our being allowed to select one, and we were told he was 2 minutes away. We received a call from the driver asking us for directions! He argued with us and we cancelled the ride and a taxi was called. We then noticed the driver cancelled the ride (assume it has to do with ratings) and charged us a $5 cancellation fee, which we disputed. We will never use UBER again.
Feedback:
Loooong wait line and you have to park your car somewhere in back because Uber doesn’t take care of their drivers and don’t want “waste money” to buy extra spots near entrance. And Indian ”mechanic” (I think he doesn’t even know how to do simple oil change) wants you to fail inspection for any reason. He didn’t like that I had bike rack on back (Lyft didn’t have any problems with that and I also don’t see an issue with that) So I’ll rather go to Tacoma office.
Feedback:
After reading many reviews I was really wary of going. I get there and after circling just once found a parking spot. I thought I am having a really lucky day that I even found a spot. I go in expecting an hour's wait, and there were only 2 people ahead of me. I managed to apply, take the test and even get a car inspection within an hour! I might have just been really lucky that it wasn't busy, but I left feeling great. Everyone was really nice (maybe not being overwhelmed helped) but based on this visit I would come here again if I needed to update. I still would go in the morning because I assume it's busier afternoons and weekends.
Feedback:
Short line to sign in. Comfy seating to wait for friendly agent. In and out, less than 1 hour, including car inspection. I already had all other documents uploaded, so that made it a little faster than those who had to take street exam, for example. Reccomend. Maybe other reviewers were trying to deter people from signing up. I was prepared for a long wait that didn't happen.
Feedback:
The top 2 complaints from Uber drivers about the last Uber Greenlight location were 1.) lack of parking and 2.) inordinately long wait times. The top 2 complaints about this location? Even less parking and even longer lines. They made the situation worse for their clientele by moving here. And it’s even further off the beaten path! The only improvement that this location has over the last location is that the inspection mechanics’ working conditions seem to have improved. Instead of using a second reception desk person to streamline the process in order to reduce the insane wait times, they hired a freaking barista. Think about that one for a moment. Instead of alleviating the problem, they’re handing you an opiate to reduce your grumbling. Talk about short sighted! Of course, this is par for the course for Uber - band aids on bullet wounds. Here’s another one. Only after waiting in line for half and hour to an hour to be seen by the reception desk guy to get on the list for an inspection and have a seat at a table can you see the small sign that says there is an alternative inspection site. Well, that information might have been useful an hour ago before you stood in line to wait to get on the list for this one. This whole place is a masterpiece of poor planning and careless attention to detail. The people who designed this hub have no concept of traffic flow and customer management. But then again, they have captive audience. Where else you gonna go? Tacoma?About half the Uber reps here know their jobs. The other half, not so much. One of the guys who works reception has been there for over a year yet is obviously lost on his computer considering the amount of time he spends getting simple tasks completed. I could go on, but I’ll stop here.
Feedback:
Beware.... This is worse than licencing office or license plate officer. The parking lot is forever full. They try to sweeten the damage by having a soft spoken person guide you to alternate parking spots, just around the corner. The wait time to meet an expert is inordinately long. If you plan to squeeze this between two events, I strongly urge you to avoid it .The process from signing-in to exit will take 90 -120 minutes on an average sunny day. Uber staff comes across as soft-spoken and defensively condescending. The makeup might have changed but alas the character is still lacking the warmth and care.Don't come if you don't have a whole day in your pocket to spare for this exasperating and frustrating ride into Uber office.
