Feedback:

For unforseen reasons I brought my two and a half year old here rather than our pediatrician. She had had an ongoing cold for over two weeks and I wanted to rule out infections ie. pneumonia, ear, sinus...not that I thought she had any just that this cold and congestion were lasting so long and many adults around us were receiving such diagnosis. A precautionary visit. I called ahead and was aware the PA was on staff not the doctor. I was okay with this as I typically am satisfied with the quality of care I've received from PAs. I should mention ahead of this that I've used the restroom here before when I was pregnant and took yoga nextdoor. The studio had closed and locked up and they were so kind as to allow me in. I found the location to be clean and friendly. I've referred many friends here based on that experience over the last two years. My mistake. The quality of care we received up to the PA was thoughtful and kind although the facility needs some basic repairs at this point. Not as clean nor kempt ie. broken trash bin in the restroom requiring one to touch it to open the lid, broken hot water dispenser, waiting room chairs a bit worn. Back to the PA. She literally spent less than three minutes with us and hardly looked at nor touch my child. Again, my little was under the weather and a bit cranky but with the slightest patience and skill one would have been able to check her out thoroughly. The diagnosis was an outer ear infection like swimmers ear even though we haven't been swimming this winter and upon looking in her ear there were the beginnings of fluid drainage which isn't comsistent with outer ear infections. She prescribed a brand name script for antibiotic ear drops and left. I'll also mention intuitively I felt she disagreed with a personal belief and choice of mine for my child and at that point provided subpar attention and treatment to us. I can't stress enough how little attention she paid us. The office had one other patient in another room being treated for injectables as I could hear the convo as we waited. All that to say I think that's what this Urgent Care is in the business of...not so much medical care for the ill. After a $99 visit and $400 ear drops the ear infection persisted and worsened. We were able to see our pediatrician who was very thoughtful, attentive and skilled and couldn't wrap his head around the diagnosis we were given. Definitely an ear infection but not of the outer ear, not due to swimming or water, and not responsive to ear drops. Needless to say I will not be returning nor referring. Note to PA on staff...if a child cringes when you want to look in their ears ahow them how you use your otoscope to look in mommy's ears first. And smile and try a patient kindness and attention.
