Terrible service and terrible experience. Staff and managers do not return calls. Get you in the door with small deposit and then take every opportunity to raise prices. Put in contract vague terms like "subject to Manager's approval" and Terms in contract conflict with each other.My requests never got responded in timely manner. Managers are rude.

Beware after you purchase and are waiting for your home. It will be a year in a week and we still do not have our home and we paid for it months ago, all paid for.... First, they do not have the items you need for permits. Either they are not organized enough or maybe they just don't care. But if you don't deal with county building departments for a living good luck trying to get permits finalized. After you hire a professional and spend a few more thousand to get your permits good luck getting any communication or even getting your home to your property. In a process that should've been 6 months from start to finish we are almost at a year We are still waiting to get the home. Now there are more extra fees for this and that, and a lot of excuses. Find a reputable dealer!

I am approaching 3 years in my dealings with Homes Direct. I finally have a beautiful home sitting on my lot, but HD has ignored my calls and emails for months seeking completion. They delivered a house with several issues, and will not communicate with me regarding resolution. I am about to locate a contractor to finish their job! This is so wrong!

At first Homes Direct was very nice. The ordering process was easy just a few hiccups. After I closed I was happy but not with the price changes they pulled on me. I just wanted my home down. They didn’t put it down,never started. Then I complained to authorities looking for help and got threats: u..... however ... all this that you have put in motion with all these complaints .. well.. all it has done is put your loan in a retraction status unmotivated allParties and soon you will be without a loan and a home. I’m just letting you know the course that will happen.. it not a threat ... it’s a fact. That statement came from Heath after I legally complained. There going to retract my closed loan with the bank. You can imagine the stress that I’m going threw. I’m afraid of them, hurt and trying to protect myself. Be careful with them. Thank you.

This company in May 2018 promised to get me in my new modular by Christmas if I applied and signed. They sent me to Dave Crowfut for a loan who is a branch manager for home land financial services. I got approved 6 month's ago and still waiting for the loan to close. It's now November 29 and hasn't closed yet. Not sure if this was a way to keep your deposit. It's now Nov 29 2018 with Christmas around the corner and me and my family are with out a home. I can't believe this company would send me to Dave Crowfut ( home financial loan) who had me chasing my tail for 6 months. I'm now going though a different lender. After I informed my new lender of how long i waited on a approved loan with this company. He showed me how many deals he closed in the 6 months with his longest customer only waiting 45 days! Contact me for more information or other lenders I would strongly recommended. If your on a time line I would avoid this company and Run!

Revised (again) :After working with this company for more than a year, we canceled our order and moved on to a better company. Between the turnover in the office, the turnover of contractors (they let ours go without even informing us) and poor communication in general we decided we were done and didn't want the headache this company was giving us. My parents did use their Washington location and had a horrible experience. Multiple delays, wrong cabinets installed, window put a foot lower than the others (the wall had to be cut out and rebuilt to fix), house almost installed backwards when delivered and so much more. It took my parents an extra 9 months to get their house finished. This company only cares about selling homes, not about making sure customers are taken care of or that things are done right.Revised:After leaving the origional review, the owner of Homes Direct (Ray) contacted us. After learning about the issues happening in his Sacramento office, he has made every effort to rectify the situation, including completely overhauling staff at the location and coming in himself to rebuild the office and work with customers. Ray has worked with us to honor everything they originally stated and has been wonderful about keeping us in the loop and on top of this process. Our new contractor has been wonderful also. Both of them have been up front and honest with us and so far we are very happy that we are working with them to build our home. Origional Review:When we tried to purchase a home they told us a contractor would contact us within 7 days to meet with us and give us a quote for land development, and foundation so we could move forward with our house. It took a month and a half of constant calling. Then once the contractor came out he informed us of many hidden costs, including the fact that delivery and set up did not include actually getting it to our property but we would have to pay for all costs for the last few miles and to set it on the foundation because that isn't included in delivery and set up. When we tried to get a breakdown of what is their responsibility and what we were expected to pay for they would not give us clear answers. When we decided to go with them they said they help us through the whole process only to want to wash their hands of everything once we signed the papers.The contractor they sent out was not professional at all and even blew off another customer that he was supposed to meet with at the same time as us. They had called because they were out waiting on their property for a no show contractor.We were very disappointed in this experience!

We knew we wanted to buy ASAP, but could not afford the entire amount of money up front, so the financing was explained clearly. Also - they can get the houses to the site and dropped on the ground, so its one step instead of the old style 3 or 4 steps into the home. Beautiful, much different then even 10 years ago. Houses can be built with 6 inch walls, which is great. I would go back, if I had not moved 3 hours away. Good experience. I see a lot of other posts - buying a home is not just pay and expect delivery. As a buyer, one is active in the process in ensuring the process goes smoothly. Its not solely on the seller. Just my 2 cents.

Buyers beware. I purchased a palm harbor home from homes direct over a year ago I was told my house would be done in 3 months or less I am still not in my home. First we had problems getting permits because they gave us the wrong ones. Next we had to deal with the contractors that they tell you, you have to use. Their contractors are very unprofessional didnt show up until a month after they were supposed to and then said it's to wet to work. I had other contractors come out and do there jobs ( septic and redoing our road)perfectly fine in the same conditions. We have numerous issues with things on the inside of the house. The carpet was installed terribly and needed to be redone. Cabinets are falling apart. A pipe for our sprinkler system started leaking and they sent the person who installed the pipe out to fix it but when he couldn't fix it I was then asked to have a plumber come out and fix the pipe because the person who installed it originally isn't one. The water leaked into the wall behind our kitchen and the sheetrock so thats another thing they are going to have to fix. I hope mold hasnt started to develope.I have had a sprinkler head sticking thru the roof on the inside of my house since they put it together. I've been in contact with Ray the owner of homes direct and he keeps telling me they are trying to get someone out there to fix it but nothing has happened.

If I could give less stars I would... we went and looked at their model homes and decided on one. We put down $1000 fully refundable deposit to hold the "sale" price. It has been MONTHS of back and forth trying to get our money back. We finally get a check after about 4-5 months and go to deposit it and there is a stop payment on it! Try to call them and it goes to a full voicemail after 1 ring so I drove over there. Im provided a phone number for the title company that has our money and am basically told sorry, not our problem. We chose to go with a different company and I'm so glad we did if this is the type of customer service we would've had to deal with for the entire process!! We have had to postpone our wedding because we still have yet to get our money back!

I'm with Overby and Sanders. If we could give negative stars I would. Their contractors are unprofessional and unresponsive. Homes Direct also doesn't return phone calls or email messages in any meaningful way - "I'll look into it" but never any follow up or action. Their add say 4 months, we have been at it almost a year. I get lots of excuses about rain, but I have had other contractors get their work done (septic and driveway) and two other manufactured homes near us were delivered, set up, and completed within 3 months during this winter. We have the home on the property and after a lot of complaining and hassling the contractor, the house is set on the foundation. We have had no action on finish work for a month that is Homes Direct responsibility other than 1 day of work on the interior which I had to pay their contractor directly to get done. And he hasn't been back in over a week to finish.
